Taylor Swift has announced the postponement of her second Eras Tour concert in Rio de Janeiro. In an Instagram Story post, the 33-year-old singer wrote from her dressing room in the stadium, explaining that the decision to postpone the show was made due to the extreme temperatures in Rio. The concert was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 18.
In conclusion, she emphasized, "The priority will always be the safety and welfare of my fans, fellow performers, and crew."
Swift has not yet announced a rescheduled date for the concert. However, she is set to perform in Rio again on Sunday, November 19.
The Grammy winner took the stage at Brazil's Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos on Friday, November 17, amidst a historic heatwave. As the concert progressed, a number of concertgoers became overheated and began an enthusiastic chant for water.

"There are individuals who require water," Swift informed the security guards in footage shared on social media during her show, temporarily halting her rendition of "Champagne Problems" upon spotting a handcrafted sign making the appeal. "Whoever is responsible for providing them with this necessity, ensure that it is fulfilled."
Subsequently, during her performance of "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)," Swift was observed throwing a bottle of water to one attendee in the midst of the show.
Before the show, a 23-year-old fan passed away, possibly due to the adverse weather conditions. Swift issued a statement on Friday, expressing her deep sorrow and profound devastation.
Earlier this month, Swift commenced her Eras Tour in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for the South American leg. However, she had to cancel the second night of the tour due to heavy rainfall, which resulted in flooding at the stadium.
"I went down there with the hope of witnessing Taylor's second show, but unfortunately, it was cancelled due to heavy rain and thunderstorms," Travis Kelce, who is currently in a relationship with Swift, revealed on his "New Heights" podcast episode aired on Wednesday, November 15. "She was understandably displeased about it."
Kelce, aged 34, further explained, "She takes pride in performing despite inclement weather, be it rain or otherwise. Nonetheless, when it poses a safety risk to her, her crew, and the entire stadium, one must prioritize accordingly."
Swift, known for her dedication to performing in all weather conditions during her tours, joined Kelce for dinner that evening. However, they chose to maintain a low profile and keep to themselves.
"This was the only opportunity I had to go out for dinner," shared the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs during a Wednesday interview. "It was the same night the concert was postponed, so we didn't want to disregard the importance of the show by going out and having a great time in the city. Instead, we decided to stay in the hotel and maintain our privacy."
