Joe Keery received a confidence boost from a great source - Taylor Swift, who praised his song "End of Beginning."

In an episode of the "Spout Podcast" released on Monday, May 20, Keery, 32, shared a story of meeting the pop superstar at the Electric Lady recording studio in New York City.

Keery shared that he coincidentally crossed paths with Taylor Swift on the same day. He mentioned that she was really kind and they had met a few times before. Even before any collaboration took place, Swift expressed her admiration for Keery's track, 'End of Beginning'. Keery was surprised that she had even heard the song, wondering how she came across it.

Upon reflection, Keery started to understand why Taylor Swift, who is 34 years old, had listened to his music.

"She's a big music lover and always up-to-date with new music and trends," he mentioned. "So, when she came across this, it wasn't surprising because she's always discovering new music. She listened to it and genuinely liked it. It was really kind of her."

Keery shared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that he was initially confused by the crowd of fans outside the Electric Lady studio before realizing that Swift was also there.

When I stepped outside, there seemed to be a huge crowd of about 1,000 people waiting. They were expecting to see Taylor, but instead, they were confused to see me.

Some fans in the crowd recognized Keery, known for his role as Steve Harrington on the popular Netflix show Stranger Things. While on “Spout,” Keery couldn’t reveal much about the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, which started filming in January. However, he did take a moment to look back on the success of the series since it first aired in 2016.

"It doesn't feel like the end is near every day," he mentioned. "I'm sure it will hit us more as we get closer, but for now, it's just business as usual. We're working hard to bring these scripts to life and do justice to the amazing work the writers have done."

Stranger Things season five is still in production and is expected to be released in 2025.
