Taylor Swift is fearless — and fashionable — on the cover of TIME.

At 33 years old, the singer was selected as the publication's Person of the Year, flaunting her physique in a black bodysuit and sheer tights on the front page of the highly anticipated issue. Swift paired the outfit, which is a major trend for 2023, with her trademark red lip and had her blonde hair styled in loose, shaggy curls. However, the standout feature of the cover may be the cameo appearance of her cat Benjamin Button. Swift's blue-eyed feline could be seen wrapped around her shoulders, gazing directly into the camera.

The issue showcased Swift's edgy side, with her donning a crisp white button-up shirt paired with a black blazer and dark jeans, a departure from her usual girly aesthetic. Another look included Swift bundled up in a plush turtleneck sweater, a denim button-up shirt, and a canvas work jacket. She also posed in a black bodycon gown and a glittery corset top, all accentuated with a crimson pout. Swift also shared about her career, friendship with Beyoncé, and romance with Travis Kelce.

The spark ignited when Travis playfully called me out on his podcast, which I found incredibly cool,” she playfully revealed, alluding to an episode of Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast back in July. In the episode, he mentioned his desire to gift Swift a friendship bracelet at one of her Kansas City Eras Tour performances. Although they didn't manage to meet at the concert, Swift confirmed that they "started hanging out right after that." Their connection was undeniable, as Swift was later seen attending her first Kansas City Chiefs game in September.

Swift revealed that, although their relationship was highly publicized, the couple was able to develop a strong connection in private before their romance became widely known at the end of the summer.

"We had a good amount of time together that no one was aware of, and I appreciate that because it allowed us to really understand each other," she added. "By the time I attended that first game, we were already together. Some people might think that was our first date at the game? We'd never be crazy enough to make our first date such a public event."

Since then, Swift has been supporting Kelce at various Kansas City Chiefs games, and the NFL star recently flew to Buenos Aires to watch the hitmaker perform on the international leg of her Eras Tour. "When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care," Swift told the outlet. "The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other."

As for Beyoncé, Swift praised her as “the most precious gem of a person — warm and open and funny.”

Swift also acknowledged the tendency of trolls to pit female artists against each other. “Many stadium tours happened this summer, but the only ones that were compared were me and Beyoncé,” Swift stated to TIME. “It's clear that the media and stan culture profit from setting two women against each other, even when those artists refuse to participate in that narrative.”

Beyoncé, 42, put an end to the rumors of a feud when she attended the premiere of Swift’s Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour in Los Angeles on October 12. Swift, in turn, attended the premiere of Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé in London after the conclusion of the Renaissance World Tour in October.
