Taylor Swift, 33, surprised fans in São Paulo, Brazil, on November 26 by declaring that all of her tracks are "fair game" to be repeated during the surprise song section of The Eras Tour. She announced that for her last show of 2023, and for the 2024 tour, she will open up all the songs for surprise performances.
She added, "After a year, we've covered so many songs, so when we go back on tour, I'm going to make all the songs fair game. There are still some songs that I really want to play, so I'm going to try to get through all of them."
As her final two surprise songs of the year, she performed "Say Don't Go" from 1989 (Taylor's Version) and "It's Time to Go" from Evermore.
Swift had initially informed her fans that she would only perform surprise songs once during her tour, unless they were from her album Midnights, which she could play multiple times. However, at her Tampa concert in April, she confessed that she now wants to repeat some songs in the acoustic section, despite her previous decision.
Swift added that she does have one exception to her rules, saying "If [a song] is on Midnights, I can do it as many times as I want because Midnights is the most accurate picture of my life to date." (Swift released Midnights in October 2022.)
In October, Swift released a concert movie of The Eras Tour in theaters. On Monday, November 27, she announced on Instagram that fans will soon be able to watch the movie at home.
“I have an upcoming birthday, and I thought a great way to celebrate the year we’ve had together would be to make The Eras Tour Concert Film available for you to watch at home!” she posted on Instagram, along with a video of her performing “Wildest Dreams,” which was excluded from the movie's theatrical version.
