Swifties unite! Taylor Swift has unveiled a collection of hand-written lyrics in anticipation of the release of 1989 (Taylor's Version).

The lyrics, extracted from Swift's personal journal, state, "Let's skip ahead to / after 300 cups of coffee / I come across your profile / and catch a glimpse of your smile / caught off guard by unsuspecting waiters." This glimpse into the lyrics was shared through an Instagram Story post on Tuesday, October 24. Accompanying the post is a link to pre-order the album, set to be released on Friday, October 27.

Swift, 33, did not disclose the source of the words, but she had previously announced that her latest rerecording would contain five new songs that were not included in the original album. These songs are titled "Is It Over Now?," "Now That We Don't Talk," "Say Don't Go," "Suburban Legends," and "Slut!" Prior to unveiling the new titles, Swift collaborated with Google in September to create a word puzzle game for her fans. Swifties successfully completed 33 million word puzzles within 24 hours of the challenge announcement, granting them an exclusive glimpse at the new tracklist.

"Swift shared the back covers and titles of the vault tracks for her version of 1989 on Instagram. She expressed her excitement for the release and thanked her fans for their enthusiasm and enjoyment in deciphering the hints and participating in the chaotic fun. While Swift never explicitly reveals the inspiration behind her songs, many speculate that her relationship with ex Harry Styles may have influenced some tracks on the album, such as "Style" and "Out of the Woods"."

In contrast to Swift's previous re-recordings, 1989 (Taylor's Version) will not include any duets. Fearless (Taylor's Version) saw the release of new collaborations with Maren Morris and Keith Urban, while Red (Taylor's Version) and Speak Now (Taylor's Version) featured songs featuring Chris Stapleton, Phoebe Bridgers, Ed Sheeran, Fall Out Boy, and Hayley Williams.

During the final Eras Tour concert in Los Angeles in August, Swift excitedly revealed that her next album to be released would be 1989 (Taylor's Version). Sporting her iconic blue attire from the 1989 era, she expressed her surprise and delight at the audience's support. In addition, she hinted at a surprise planned for the show, teasing the audience with the promise of something special that she had been planning for a long time.

After Scooter Braun purchased and then sold the rights to her masters in July 2019, Swift opted to re-record her earlier work. In November of the same year, the singer disclosed that she had obtained the legal permission to re-record her first six albums. With the release of "1989 (Taylor's Version)" scheduled for Friday, Swift will only have two albums remaining to be re-recorded, namely "Reputation" and her self-titled debut album.
