Supergirl Actress Teases Exciting Talks with DC Studios for Future Projects

Sasha Calle, the talented actress portraying Supergirl in The Flash movie, reveals exciting meetings with DC Studios for potential future projects Calle's rendition of Supergirl in Woman of Tomorrow promises a fresh and unique take on the beloved character

With a new Supergirl movie in development, Sasha Calle discusses her meetings with DC Studios to potentially reprise her role as Kara Zor-El after The Flash. While The Flash primarily focused on Barry Allen's journey, it also introduced Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, to the big screen for the first time since the 1984 film. Taking inspiration from Flashpoint, Calle's Supergirl played a similar role to Superman in the iconic DC Comics storyline, as Henry Cavill's Kal-El did not arrive on Earth due to Barry's time-travel actions.

The question arises whether Calle will return as Supergirl for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, a film set in the DC Universe. It seems that Calle may not be finished portraying the Girl of Steel just yet. In an interview with USA Today, Calle confirmed that she has met with Peter Safran, one of the co-CEOs of DC Studios, to discuss the possibility of continuing her portrayal of Supergirl after The Flash.

I hope to continue playing Supergirl. I love her so deeply and I feel so connected to her.

How Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow Could Do Sasha Calle's Character Different From The Flash Movie

Little is currently known about Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow except that it will be based on Tom King's comic series of the same name. While the DC Universe will undergo a reboot, the Supergirl movie has the opportunity to incorporate Calle's character while also presenting her in a unique way compared to The Flash film. In the DCEU version, Kara was portrayed as the last surviving member of the House of El, distinct from her cousin Kal-El.

With Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, the DC Universe can delve deeper into Calle's heroine's backstory, surpassing what The Flash has done. This iteration of Supergirl would not have experienced the captivity and imprisonment in Siberia. Considering that DC Studios is bringing back various DCEU cast members, such as Viola Davis as Amanda Waller and John Cena as Peacemaker, there is no reason why Calle couldn't join the DC Universe as a fresh interpretation of Supergirl.

Only time will reveal if DC Studios plans to bring Calle back for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, as their current focus is on Superman: Legacy, the inaugural installment of the DC Universe. Calle's portrayal of Supergirl was well-received in The Flash, making it exciting to see her continue playing Kara but in her own film, where she can take center stage. Hopefully, DC Studios will make an official announcement regarding Calle's future as Supergirl sooner rather than later, now that The Flash has been released.
