Rosario Dawson Takes Over as Catwoman in New DC Universe

Rosario Dawson is gearing up to play Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, in the upcoming DC Universe. As the DCEU draws to a close with The Flash movie this summer, DC Studios is ramping up its efforts with a range of interconnected shows and films in the works. Chapter 1, titled "Gods and Monsters," is already in motion, with James Gunn and Peter Safran, co-CEOs of DC Studios, teasing fans with a number of upcoming projects. While more series and movies are set to be announced in due course, anticipation is already high for who will be playing some of the most iconic Batman characters. One such character is Catwoman, and Dawson, who has portrayed the anti-hero in the past, recently took to social media to share her reaction to a piece of fan art created by a Reddit user.

Dawson's impressive voice acting skills are showcased in various DC properties, including her role as Catwoman in Batman: The Audio Adventures. Season 2 of the show was released in October 2022, and fans can't get enough of her performance. Additionally, she lent her voice to Wonder Woman in the DC Animated Movie Universe, which came to a thrilling end with Justice League Dark: Apokolips War in 2020. For those wondering if Catwoman will make an appearance in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, only time will tell.

Based on Grant Morrison's Batman run, a new DC Universe film titled Batman: The Brave and The Bold is currently in development. This film will delve into the relationship between Bruce Wayne and his biological son, Damian, who was raised as an assassin. As of now, no creative team has been publicly announced for the project.

However, there is a possibility for Catwoman to make an appearance in the upcoming Batman: The Brave and The Bold movie. As revealed in January, the new Batman reboot will feature other members of the Bat-Family, indicating that this version of Batman is well into his journey. With Selina's complex role in the DC mythology, she could already be an ally to Batman and the rest of the Bat-Family at this point.
