Suki Waterhouse Embraces Solitude, Finds Love with Rob Pattinson After Celibacy Journey
Suki Waterhouse embraced solitude and celibacy for almost a year until she crossed paths with Robert Pattinson in 2018, ultimately igniting a love story
Suki Waterhouse opted for a break from dating before discovering her love for Robert Pattinson, her current boyfriend.
On the October 4 episode of the "Driven Minds: A Type 7 Podcast," the 31-year-old Waterhouse shared that she experienced a prolonged period of celibacy, which turned out to be tremendously beneficial for her overall well-being.
“It’s simply the act of removing the chaos that comes with receiving attention, having to navigate those interactions and sending texts, and experiencing those bursts of excitement,” she disclosed to host Gillian Sagansky. She mentioned that during that period, she refrained from going on any dates or engaging in any romantic activities. "This turned out to be a wonderful thing. I gained clarity and became very comfortable with my own company. And then, unexpectedly, I met my boyfriend."
Having started dating Pattinson, now 37, in July 2018, the actress from Daisy Jones & the Six believes that her celibacy period made their connection feel even more special.
Waterhouse disclosed that she had made a firm decision to abstain from dating following the abrupt termination of a long-term relationship. Reflecting upon the past, she recounted the distressing instances of being ghosted and unceremoniously broken up with after investing a year in a relationship, acknowledging the now-undeniable warning signs that were evident at the time.
Moreover, the breakup and subsequent hiatus from meeting new individuals presented an opportunity for the actress to discern her desires and expectations in a potential significant other.

Waterhouse expressed her appreciation for understanding in relationships, particularly regarding her hectic work schedule. She believes that the home should be a sanctuary, separate from the outside world. She finds comfort and happiness in having a secured and peaceful home, which is currently located in the Twilight actor's residence, as she moved in earlier this year.
"I've been overwhelmed with anxiety ever since I relocated. I wasn't present during the move, so everything was simply packed up and shipped away. I feel incredibly fortunate because he is incredibly understanding of the disorder and chaos," she excitedly expressed about Pattinson. "He never criticizes or complains about it. In fact, he finds it rather endearing, making me feel incredibly lucky."
Although Waterhouse and Pattinson have maintained a relatively low-key relationship over the years, a recent source revealed to Us that he is her biggest admirer.
In May, an insider exclusively told Us that he is thrilled about her success. They also mentioned that Pattinson and Waterhouse complement each other perfectly, with her bringing out his adventurous side, and they enjoy spending time at home together.
Before being in a relationship with Pattinson, Waterhouse had been romantically associated with Miles Kane, Bradley Cooper, and Diego Luna.
