Filming for the last season of Stranger Things has commenced as the highly anticipated series prepares to make its triumphant return to Netflix.
After fans departed from Hawkins, Indiana, the children found themselves grappling with the impending apocalypse caused by Vecna, who was wreaking havoc and enslaving the souls of the townspeople.
Unfortunately, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, the show was unable to begin production on its last season. However, there is now hope as the strike has finally concluded, leading to the cast being summoned back to work.
Stranger Things actor says set times started as strike ended
During the BoxLunch Holiday Gala in Hollywood, David Harbour, the actor behind Eleven's (Millie Bobby Brown) adoptive father in Stranger Things, shared his thoughts with People Magazine. The event was held to recognize the non-profit organization Feeding America.
During a conversation, Harbour provided an update on the filming of Stranger Things Season 5 and highlighted the efficient production process after the conclusion of the actors' strike.
"They contacted me immediately, approximately 10 minutes after the SAG announcement on Twitter," Harbour elaborated. "The first Assistant Director promptly arranged for my flight on Monday, and informed me that filming would take place in Atlanta."
Harbour went on to say that he was “thrilled” with the quick turn around as he was “excited to be back at work.”
Season 5 of Stranger Things will seamlessly continue from where Season 4 left off, following the ongoing battle against Vecna and the efforts to awaken Max (Sadie Sink) from her coma.
As the show approaches its final season, the narrative is expected to delve deeper into darker storylines, as revealed by Maya Hawke. She expressed her anticipation for characters meeting their demise, longing for her own heroic final moments. Like any actor, she desires to depart with dignity.

As a passionate fan of Stranger Things, I am thrilled to hear that filming for the final season has officially commenced. The show's return has been highly anticipated by fans around the world, and the conclusion of the SAG-AFTRA strike has finally allowed production to move forward. The cast and crew have been working tirelessly to bring the final season to life, and I can't wait to see what they have in store for us.
The last season of Stranger Things left us with a major cliffhanger, as Vecna unleashed his wrath on Hawkins and the gang faced an uncertain future. The upcoming season promises to be even more intense and emotional, as the characters grapple with the aftermath of Vecna's attack and the looming threat of the Upside Down. I'm particularly excited to see how the writers will wrap up the story and give the characters the closure they deserve.
