It was hard for Kyle Richards to hide her struggles with Mauricio Umansky on season 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
In July 2023, it was confirmed that Kyle and Mauricio had ended their 27-year marriage. Despite denying any plans for divorce, the Bravo stars released a joint statement on social media acknowledging the challenges they had faced.
"We have deep love and respect for each other," they stated. "No one is at fault for our separation. While we understand our public profile, we kindly request privacy as we navigate through our personal issues."
Their statement appeared to indirectly acknowledge the rumors surrounding the nature of Kyle's friendship with country star Morgan Wade. In the RHOBH season 13 trailer released in October 2023, Kyle briefly appeared tattooing Morgan with her "K" initial, which caused some concern for Dorit Kemsley. Both Kyle and Morgan have adamantly denied any romantic involvement between them. As of November 2023, Kyle and Mauricio are officially separated and residing in separate rooms of their home.
Another question raised in the RHOBH trailer revolves around ongoing rumors of infidelity directed at Mauricio that have persisted for years. Previously, Kyle and Mauricio strongly denied any infidelity during the Bravo show's fourth season.

Kyle and Mauricio’s marriage has been one of the focal points of season 13, which started airing in late October 2023.

The Tattoo Argument
Tensions ran high between Kyle and Mauricio in the dramatic finale of season 13 premiere, particularly when the topic of her two new tattoos arose, bringing her total count to five.
"Are you serious? I thought there were only three," Mauricio expressed to his wife. Kyle swiftly retaliated, retorting, "Well, perhaps you should start paying closer attention to my body."
Calling The Agency ‘The Other Woman’
Mauricio firmly stated that he will not permit Kyle to acquire any additional tattoos. In response, Kyle argued, "You aren't even aware of the number of tattoos I already have. If I desire to get another one, I will. It's my body."
In the November 2023 airing of the second episode of RHOBH season 13, Kyle likened Mauricio's real estate company, The Agency, to a "third party" in their relationship.
"I believe he has dedicated himself wholeheartedly to The Agency," she stated. "We used to be on the same wavelength, always in harmony, but recently it feels like we're out of sync. It seems like his focus has shifted entirely to The Agency and his professional endeavors."
What Mauricio’s Mom Said
In the second installment of season 13, an exciting event unfolded as Portia, the youngest daughter of Kyle and Mauricio, joyfully marked her 15th birthday. Amidst the festivities, Mauricio's mother, Estella Sneider, took the opportunity to approach Kyle and inquire about any updates regarding their marital status.

"Is everything alright between you and Mauricio?" she inquired. "Every time I go on Google, there's news about you and Mauricio parting ways, contemplating divorce. It reached a stage where I phoned Mauricio... It's just overwhelming. Who initiated all this?"
Kyle expressed surprise at the question, explaining that speculation about her marriage arose when she was photographed without her wedding ring in February 2023.
"While Mau and I have been going through difficulties, the absence of my ring in that picture is unrelated," Kyle clarified. "I have consistently been wearing my wedding band, so it's perplexing that people are drawing conclusions based on one instance when I had taken it off briefly while lifting weights."
Things got tense about tattoos again when Kyle told Estella that Mauricio had a tattoo his mother didn’t know about.
A Conversations With Dorit
Kyle shared her marriage woes with her dear friend Dorit in the fourth episode of RHOBH.
"I had higher expectations from him when I was dealing with my issues," she expressed, alluding to a disagreement with her sister Kathy Hilton. Another source of Kyle's frustration is that Mauricio continues to attend numerous social events for work. Since she no longer drinks, she is reluctant to accompany him.
"I'm not happy with the current state of my relationship," she confessed in her personal reflection. "I am currently focusing on self-improvement while feeling like he prioritizes his work. As a result, it seems like we are growing apart."
She went on to say, "I don't want to wake up years later and realize that we have nothing in common to talk about anymore."
Answering Questions About Infidelity
During the airing of RHOBH season 13's fourth episode, the women embarked on a journey to Las Vegas. In the midst of their adventure, Garcelle Beauvais inquired about the group's hypothetical response to discovering their partner's infidelity. Kyle seemed visibly uneasy in her reaction.
"In my confession, Kyle addressed the numerous rumors that we have faced over the years. She firmly stated, 'Do I appear as someone who would simply turn a blind eye to them? Absolutely not.'"
