Sophia Bush shared a meme on her Instagram Story following a claim by Erin Foster that Chad Michael Murray had cheated on her with Bush. The meme featured a cake with the message, "Congrats on leaving that toxic relationship!" Bush, 41, captioned the picture with "Necessary levity, Vol. 3."
Bush made the confectionary dig just hours after Murray deflected a direct question about whether he had a relationship with Bush while still dating Foster in the early 2000s. (Bush and Murray got married in April 2005 but ended their marriage five months later.)
After being asked on Monday, November 27, how Foster's allegations affected him, Murray told E! News: "I love everybody, I really do. And I'm not — I don't go into 'he said, she said.' It's just not in my world. And you know why? It's not one of those things that I want to go down the road of because there's just never a winner."
The star of Sullivan’s Crossing continued to deflect the question, expressing, “I feel fortunate to be where I am at this moment. I dwell in the present, and I look forward to the future.”
Murray maintained that “things have changed so much” for him since his youth and he now strives to “live in the present.” Additionally, Murray emphasized that “you’ll never hear me saying anything negative or hurtful about anyone.”
Without directly addressing Foster's accusations of infidelity, Murray hinted that he is not without fault. "I have more regrets than I care to count, but I don't dwell on the past," he admitted. "Every day, I strive to move forward, grateful for the breath in my lungs, the strength to keep going, and the promise of a new day." In October, Foster brought attention to the alleged infidelity on her "World's First Podcast," claiming that Murray was unfaithful to her while they were living together. "He definitely cheated on me with [Bush] in a pretty serious way," she asserted to her sister Sara Foster.
Erin and Murray started their relationship in 2001. Murray later began a relationship with Bush after meeting on One Tree Hill in 2003. They got married in 2005 and divorced in December 2006. Murray then married Sarah Roemer in January 2015, and they have three children together. Bush was married to Grant Hughes for 13 months before filing for divorce in August. She has since been linked to soccer player Ashlyn Harris.

Bush has not publicly addressed Erin's claims, but her close friend Hilarie Burton disputed the narrative, stating, "As the person who had a front-row seat then? This wasn't it." Burton went on to express her frustration at the way the situation was being portrayed, explaining, "We were all told you'd broken up, which is why our guy was pursuing her. Now this is being spun to make my sister look like a brazen harlot. And if she's anyone's harlot, it's mine!"
