Sophia Bush has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Grant Hughes, after only 13 months of marriage.

According to a source close to them, Sophia and Grant were friends for a decade and formed a strong bond during the COVID pandemic through their shared passion for community service. They are currently collaborating on their nonprofit organization and maintain a good friendship. This news of their separation comes shortly after Bush publicly celebrated their wedding anniversary on social media, less than two months ago.

Both Bush and Hughes, 41, have remained silent on the breakup. However, Bush took to Instagram on Thursday, August 3, to share a mysterious message. The quote read, "Sometimes, it is crucial to remember your uniqueness. You are irreplaceable, from your heart and mind to your conversations and care. No one can take your place."

Bush posted a follow-up message on Friday, emphasizing that timing is irrelevant when it comes to destiny. He firmly believes that what is meant for you cannot be hurried, postponed, or seized. Interestingly, the announcement about their separation comes shortly after Bush publicly celebrated their wedding anniversary on social media less than two months ago.

"Today, I celebrate a full year of proudly calling you my husband," she shared on Instagram before deleting the post. "Marrying you was the best decision I ever made, and that feeling still remains unchanged. I am filled with sheer joy and excitement as we run towards our future together, constantly smiling and laughing. You are my favorite person, and I love you dearly. Happy Anniversary!"

In June 2022, Bush and Hughes exchanged vows in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Tulsa County Court Clerk confirmed that the couple acquired their marriage license on June 8th and returned the completed document a week later.

The couple eventually tied the knot at the Philbrook Museum of Art, a beautiful villa constructed in the Italian Renaissance style in 1927. Among the notable attendees were Colton Underwood, Jordan Brown, Aaron Paul, Jensen and Danneel Ackles, Hilarie Burton Morgan, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Bush and Hughes were initially connected in May 2020 and became engaged in August of that year. "Being the favorite person of your favorite person is truly the most amazing feeling in the world #YES," gushed Bush on Instagram after Hughes proposed in Lake Como, Italy.

In another social media post, she excitedly shared, "My forever favorite! #engaged #Italy #HappyGirl." The actress, known for her role in One Tree Hill, affectionately referred to her partner, Hughes, as her "favorite human." She described his proposal as "the most extraordinary and heartfelt surprise I've ever experienced."
