Hours before Sophia Bush filed for divorce from Grant Hughes after one year of marriage, she found solace in her friends.

Bush, 41, shared a photo on her Instagram on Thursday, August 3, showing 10 of her friends accompanying her on a hike in Los Angeles. She mentioned that she left the house twice this week for something other than doctor's appointments, which she considered a victory. Among her companions is Bobby Berk, a well-known personality from Queer Eye, who expressed his love for their group.

On Friday, August 4, it was confirmed that Bush had filed for divorce from Hughes after 13 months of marriage. Following the separation, the actress removed his surname from her Instagram bio. However, despite their split, Bush and Hughes still maintain a strong friendship. They have decided to continue working together on their nonprofit organization, the Bush Hughes Foundation for Progress, as confirmed by People.

Prior to her marriage to Hughes, Bush was briefly married to her One Tree Hill co-star Chad Michael Murray in 2005. Her relationship with Hughes began in May 2020, and he proposed a year later during a vacation in Italy. In June 2022, the couple exchanged vows at the Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as exclusively confirmed by Us.

"We quickly formed a strong friendship, although our busy work schedules meant we only managed to meet a few times a year," Bush shared with Vogue in July, referring to her connection with Hughes, whom she had met a decade earlier during a trip to Nicaragua. "I have never experienced such a wave of positivity and clearness as I did on our wedding day. It was truly amazing to feel a complete absence of anxiety, which is something I struggle with. I couldn't help but smile non-stop."

Earlier this summer, Bush and the real estate investor joyfully celebrated their first anniversary.

"Happy 1st Anniversary, my love! What an incredible year we've shared - filled with joy, growth, and endless excitement. Being by your side brings me immense happiness." Hughes expressed on Instagram in June, accompanying his message with a meaningful quote from Rachel Signer's memoir, You Had Me At Pét-Nat, emphasizing the importance of a strong and committed partnership.

No further statements have been made by Bush or Hughes regarding their separation, but the actress did share a few cryptic quotes on her Instagram Story during this time.

"Remind yourself that you are unique and irreplaceable," she posted on Thursday. "No one can replace your heart, your mind, your conversations, or your care."

On Friday, she shared another quote, stating, "There is no such thing as too early or too late. What is meant for you will come at the right time; it cannot be hurried, postponed, or stolen."
