Sophia Bush’s friends hyped her up as she navigated her divorce from Grant Hughes.
"Bush asked Bethany Joy Lenz on their podcast "Drama Queens" if she remembered the song 'Hot Girl Summer' by Megan Thee Stallion. Lenz replied in the affirmative. Bush went on to explain that during the late spring and early summer, she and many of her friends were going through difficult breakups at the same time."
"Someone even dubbed it 'Hot Divorce Summer' at one point, and I couldn't stop laughing," Bush said. "The fact that our group chat is not only lifting everyone's spirits, but also exchanging lawyer recommendations, sharing quotes from amazing writers, running a book club, and sending each other funny memes from TikTok, it's just become so amazing."
As Bush thought about her participation in the group chat, she had a revelation. She suggested that maybe their divorcee group chat should be turned into a movie. "Perhaps we should turn that into a movie," she joked.
“That’s the rom-com I want to watch!” Lenz gushed.

In August, it was confirmed that Bush and Hughes ended their 13-month marriage. On the same day, Bush removed Hughes' last name from her Instagram bio and deleted photos of the couple. Court documents obtained by Us revealed that Bush filed for divorce and cited their date of separation as June 27, just after their first anniversary.
According to an exclusive source from Us, Bush and Hughes' split was friendly, as they both agreed they were "better off as friends."
"It wasn't a messy breakup, and they are still there for each other," the insider said. "They both want each other to find happiness and for their nonprofit to keep flourishing."

In October, Bush was reported to have started a new relationship with soccer player Ashlyn Harris, who had recently separated from her estranged wife Ali Krieger after four years of marriage. According to a second source, the pair began as friends and found common ground in their breakups and the need to start over.
When news of Harris and Bush's alleged romance surfaced, Hughes responded to the reports by stating, "Grant will always want the best for Sophia, and is supportive of all that makes her happy and fulfilled," a representative for Hughes told Page Six at the time.
