Sophia Bush celebrated Mother's Day by honoring all the mothers in her life, including her girlfriend Ashlyn Harris.

In a heartfelt Instagram Story post on Sunday, May 12, Bush shared a sweet photo of Harris and her daughter Sloane Phillips Krieger-Harris. Alongside the photo, Bush wrote, "And of course to you, you absolutely magic momma." (Harris is a mother to Sloane, 3, and son Ocean, 20 months, whom she shares with her ex-wife Ali Krieger.)

Bush took to her Instagram Story to wish several women in her life, including her own mom, a happy Mother's Day. She expressed her feelings of love and admiration for the women who have become mothers, stating how beautiful it is to see them in that role. She also shared her hope that they all realize how magical they are.

In April 2024, Bush and Harris made their relationship public on Instagram. However, the athlete and the One Tree Hill alum have been dating since the previous fall, following their respective divorces from Krieger and Grant Hughes.

"Sophia and Ashlyn claimed they were just friends, but everyone could see the instant chemistry between them," a source revealed to We magazine after Harris and Bush's initial date. "They enjoy each other's company, share a love for sports, and have a desire to make a positive impact on the world."

In a self-penned cover story for Glamour released on April 25, Bush finally addressed her sexuality and refuted allegations of infidelity with Hughes.

"I always felt like this place was my true home as I embraced who I am. I've always had a sense that my sexuality is diverse," Bush expressed. "Currently, I feel that 'queer' is the best word to describe it. Saying it makes me smile, which feels amazing."

She went on to say, "I finally feel a sense of relief. It's hard to put into words how significant that is. It's as if I've been carrying a heavy load for a long time. I didn't realize how burdensome it was until I finally let it go."

Bush shared that her journey of coming out was lengthy and well-thought-out, but she had the unwavering support of her parents.

She recounted a moment when her mother received a call from a friend expressing doubt about Bush's sexuality. Her mother responded with understanding and acceptance, stating, "Oh honey, I think she's pretty gay. And she's happy."

Harris posted her support for Bush via Instagram shortly after. “Proud of you, babe,” the former U.S. Women’s National Team goalkeeper wrote over a snap of the Glamour cover story on April 26.
