The second episode of Solo Leveling will air on Tokyo MX, GYT, GTV, BS11, CBC and YTV on Japanese television. Shortly after its broadcast in Japan, the episode will be available for streaming in North America and Europe on Crunchyroll.

Solo Leveling Episode 1 Recap

The episode will be available in India through Crunchyroll, and in China through Medialink, which has acquired the broadcast rights. Subscription to each of the streaming platforms is required for access.

A decade ago, Gates began to emerge worldwide, bridging the gap between our dimension and the realm of monsters. The courageous individuals who confront these creatures are known as Hunters and are categorized into six ranks based on their prowess, from A to E. Those at the pinnacle of strength are members of the esteemed S-Rank.

The first episode of Solo Leveling kicks off with S-Rank Hunters Baek Yoon-Ho and Choi Jong-In battling ant monsters in anime original scenes. Meanwhile, Go Gun-Hee briefs Woo Jin-Chul on the Government's efforts to prevent a Dungeon Break. Yoo Jin-Ho, Han Song-Yi, and Cha Hae-In also make their debut.

Later, Sung Jin-Woo, known as the "World’s weakest hunter" due to his E-rank status, joins Healer Lee Joo-Hee in a D-rank Dungeon Raid led by Song Chi-Yul. Jin-Woo financially supports his comatose mother and aspiring sister with the meager earnings from the Hunter’s Guild.

Discovering an e-rank Magic Gem, he sustains an injury and is tended to by Joo-Hee, just as a second Dungeon materializes inside the Gate. The Hunters deliberate on whether to proceed with the raid, and Jin-Woo's decision prompts them to venture into the second Dungeon.

What to expect from Solo Leveling Episode 2?

Upon entering the chamber, they are confronted with towering stone statues and discover the ancient 10 commandments of the Cartenon Temple. Attempting to flee, the hunters soon realize they are ensnared within the chamber as the statues suddenly spring to life, intent on their demise.

Episode 1 adapted chapters 1 – 3 of the webtoon/manhwa with considerable anime-original content added to it.

Episode 2 of the anime is expected to cover chapters 4-7 of the manhwa if it stays true to the original story. However, since there are still important characters to be introduced, there may also be some new scenes created specifically for the anime. The preview image shows that the episode will include the well-known smile from the stone statue, and will delve further into Jin-Woo's character as he faces the dangers of the temple.

Editor's P/S

As a hard fan of Solo Leveling, I am eagerly anticipating the release of Episode 2. The first episode set the stage for an epic adventure, introducing us to the world of Gates, Hunters, and the mysterious Sung Jin-Woo. The animation quality was top-notch, and the voice acting brought the characters to life. I can't wait to see how the story unfolds in the upcoming episode.

I am particularly excited to see how Jin-Woo's character develops. In the first episode, he was portrayed as a weak and underestimated hunter, but I know that he has the potential to become one of the strongest. I am also curious to learn more about the Cartenon temple and the ancient commandments that the hunters discovered. The preview image for Episode 2 hints at some intense battles and thrilling moments, and I can't wait to see what lies ahead for Jin-Woo and his team.
