A brief recap of Ishura Episode 2: Alus the Star Runner

Ishura Episode 2 began with the narrator detailing the city of the New Principality of Lithia, which was once under the rule of Auretia. When Taren the Punished claimed independence for the city and took control of the canal, it separated from Auretia.

The episode then shows Lana the Moon Tempest traveling with Higuare Umitaru and Otogiri Shark in a carriage, only to be attacked by wyverns and bandits. However, they managed to survive unscathed when Regnejee the Wings of Sunsets, the commander of Lithia’s wyvern army, swiftly destroyed the enemies.

Shark, Higuare, and Lana come to the realization that their target was Auretia, as the instigator of the attacks on Lithia was affiliated with the Auretian government. Meanwhile, in Auretia, two officials discuss plans to assassinate Taren, viewing Lithia as a growing threat. They propose orchestrating a “big accident” to set an example.

Harghent the Still, sixth general of the Auretian empire, set out for Tileet Ravine in pursuit of Vikeon the Smoldering, a colossal dragon. While awaiting his soldiers' report on the dragon's lair, Harghent received word that Vikeon was approaching his location.

In a swift move, his commander Peke pushed him several feet away from the tent to save his life, sacrificing her own in the process. Harghent observed that Vikeon appeared to be severely wounded, as if he had recently been in a fierce confrontation.

Vikeon finally disclosed that his assailant was actually a wyvern, not a minia (human). Despite Harghent's attempt to eliminate Vikeon by conjuring a ballista through magic, the weapon proved ineffective against the creature.

Harghent was on the verge of being engulfed by Vikeon’s flames when Alus the Star Runner swooped in and swiftly vanquished the colossal dragon in mere seconds. Displeased by Alus’ interference in his battle with Vikeon, Harghent made it clear that he did not consider Alus a friend, stating that it would be sacrilegious for a general to befriend a wyvern.

Despite Vikeon still being alive, the dragon launched a surprise attack on the pair, but Alus was able to shield himself and Harghent from the intense flames using The Greatshield of the Dead, a rare artifact that provides ultimate protection. Eventually, Alus utilized Hillensingen, the Luminous Blade, to split Vikeon into two parts.

What to expect from Ishura Episode 3

Harghent informed Alus that Auretia was assembling a team of heroes for the 29 officials, and suggested that he join, but Alus remained firm in his decision not to include him. In response, Alus shared his plan to journey to the Great Labyrinth of Nagan in pursuit of something intriguing.

Titled "Dakai the Magpie and Regnejee the Wings of Sunset," Ishura Episode 3 is expected to delve into the lives of the two central characters. Although Regnejee was introduced in the previous episode, there is still much more to uncover about his character.

Furthermore, Dakai is set to make his debut in Ishura Episode 3. Described as a spy and collector of valuable weapons and artifacts for Taren, his mission is to aid her in defeating Auretia. Keep an eye out for upcoming news and updates on the Ishura anime and light novel series as we move through 2024.
