Plot summary

Initially serialized on Shosetsuka ni Narou, an open-source novel publishing website, Tsuyoshi Fujitaka’s My Instant Death Ability is So Overpowered was later acquired by Earth Star Entertainment. The series was published from October 15, 2016, to March 15, 2023, spanning 14 volumes in total.

J-Novel Club obtained the rights to release the series in English during Anime Expo Lite 2020. According to the publisher, the story follows Yogiri Takatou who wakes up to find his class transported to another world. He had slept through the chaos and missed out on the powers given to his classmates by a mysterious Sage.

Furthermore, he found himself in an even more dire situation when he and a fellow classmate were callously deserted by their peers, left behind as a diversion to lure a dragon away. While he wasn't particularly fazed by the prospect of death, he begrudgingly takes it upon himself to defend his only ally. Despite the odds, a mere Level 1000 creature poses no threat to his hidden ability to unleash Instant Death with just a fleeting notion.
