Please Don't Destroy will seemingly go to great lengths to avoid cooking, even resorting to eating dog food. In the latest digital short on Saturday Night Live, host Nate Bargatze and musical guest Foo Fighters were absent, but Martin Herlihy and John Higgins took center stage as they humorously indulged in "dawg" food, much to the horror of Ben Marshall. This unconventional meal option was marketed as a convenient solution for men who dislike cooking, albeit spelled "dawg" to make it more appealing. To Marshall's dismay, Herlihy and Higgins even ate it out of dog bowls.
In the digital short, Higgins found traditional meal plans like Hello Fresh too demanding, prompting the introduction of their own meal prep plan called "dawg" food. In one comical scene, Herlihy is seen sharing his bowl with an actual dog that joins him in the room. Taking it a step further, Higgins bravely garnishes his canned wet "dawg" food with ketchup, although fortunately, it doesn't actually prove fatal. Unfortunately, Higgins laments being only five years old at the time.
This was a sketch that was truly unconventional, even by Please Don't Destroy standards, and the moment that Higgins starts consuming the wet dog food, it becomes truly difficult to witness. However, it's genuinely amusing to consider how some men resort to eating dog food because things like Hello Fresh require too much effort for them to exert, particularly when some of the meals can be prepared within just 20 minutes.
Ben Marshall's Horror Is Justified
Once again, Higgins indulges in wet dog food? This scenario has all the elements of a Halloween skit, which seems fitting given that it was during the Halloween episode. Apart from Herlihy and Higgin's dedication, Marshall's portrayal of pure horror truly sold the sketch. It's a straightforward and fast-paced skit that serves as a reminder of why Please Don't Destroy is the innovative and daring group we've grown to adore. While we appreciate their boundary-pushing endeavors, we'll opt for traditional scares over consuming dog food next Halloween. Take a look at the latest sketch below:
