Sneak Peek: Exciting Genshin Impact Map Expansions Unveiled!

A recent leak from Genshin Impact has revealed upcoming map expansions for the game during the Fontaine cycle. Since the release of the Sumeru region in Version 3.0, the playable world of Teyvat has significantly grown, with the addition of a rainforest and three separate desert sections. The game's fifth major region, Fontaine, is expected to be released later this summer, further expanding the explorable area. Excitingly, new leaks suggest that there will also be expansions to the existing regions.

Although the first region in Genshin Impact hasn't seen a map expansion since Version 1.2 introduced Dragonspine, rumors have been circulating about a new location within the Anemo Archon's domain. Leaks strongly suggest that Dornman Port, located north of the city of Mondstadt, will be added in a future update, along with the intriguing addition of the mysterious Dandelion Sea. Additionally, there have been rumors about a new area in Liyue, with Qiaoying Village allegedly situated in the region's northwestern corner. A recent leak provides updates on the anticipated expansion in Mondstadt, as well as another completely new location.

A new update on the highly anticipated Mondstadt expansion and a new Sumeru location in Genshin Impact has been shared by prominent leaker Tao through the Team China leaker group. According to the latest information, the Mondstadt expansion, which was originally set for release in Version 4.3, has been delayed. While previous leaks suggested that the Mondstadt expansion would be smaller compared to other map additions, it has been revealed that the new region will be adjacent to Snezhnaya, the northernmost region of Teyvat. However, based on current trends, it is unlikely that Snezhnaya will be introduced to Genshin Impact until 2025.

The Mondstadt expansion seems to have been delayed, but there is news of a new location in Sumeru during the Fontaine cycle. This location is said to be a port town connected to Fontaine, possibly situated in the northern part of Sumeru. Some fans have speculated that the expansion might include a currently inaccessible area between Sumeru and Liyue on the map. The leak also provides names for various locations within Fontaine, such as "Castle of Tear Water" and "Referee Island".

While Fontaine is scheduled to be introduced in August, fans are already speculating about future regions after the aquatic locale. One fan of Genshin Impact has discovered a mysterious tunnel in Sumeru that could potentially be an entrance to the game's expected sixth region, Natlan. Additionally, artwork for the Russian Maslenitsa Festival earlier this year displayed an official depiction of a location in Snezhnaya. It appears that Genshin Impact's map will expand even more than anticipated during the Fontaine cycle.
