Sister Wives star Gwendlyn Brown hasn't publicly mentioned her absence from her mother Christine Brown's wedding. However, it appears that everything is fine privately.

On Wednesday, October 18, the 22-year-old Gwendlyn showed appreciation for her mother on her Instagram Story. She shared a screenshot of a DoorDash delivery received from Christine, who is 51 years old. In her post, Gwendlyn wrote, "I'm spoiled. Thank you for the amazing surprise, Mom @christine_brownsw."

Christine surprised her daughter, Gwendlyn, with a thoughtful gift of three delicious flavors of "pizza cookies": chocolate chip, peanut butter, and white chocolate macadamia nut. This kind gesture was particularly meaningful, as Gwendlyn was noticeably absent from Christine's wedding to David Woolley. All of Christine's other children, Aspyn, Mykelti, Paedon, Ysabel, and Truely, who she shares with her ex-husband, Kody Brown, were present at the wedding in Moab, Utah, on October 7.

As fans of TLC pondered the absence of Gwendlyn in person to show support for her mother, Mykelti contributed to the conjecture. In an October 11 Patreon Q&A session, she revealed her own surprise at the absence of her sister during the wedding.

"I'm not sure. Gwendlyn didn't inform me about her absence," Mykelti explained, acknowledging the tragic and sorrowful circumstances for their mother. "It was quite surprising to me when she didn't appear. I had no idea she wouldn't be there."

Mykelti emphasized that Gwendlyn wasn't envious of the focus on Christine's wedding following her own marriage to Beatriz Queiroz in July. "Gwendlyn didn't want her wedding to be showcased or publicized in any way like that... I don't think she's upset that mom received more attention because Gwendlyn didn't desire that," she added.

Gwendlyn was not the only one who did not attend the celebration. Kody, 54, and his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, as well as his ex-wife Meri Brown, were also not present at the wedding. However, Janelle Brown and her six children were there to celebrate the special occasion.

Following the wedding, the newlyweds went on their honeymoon in California and enjoyed their time at Disneyland, basking in the sun. Christine expressed her happiness and gratitude for her life and for finding love, sharing her thoughts on Instagram with hashtags like "embrace joy" and "live your best life."

Christine and Kody ended their 25-year marriage in November 2021. On Valentine's Day, she introduced her new partner, Woolley, on Instagram, and two months later, they announced their engagement.

Following Christine's lead, Janelle, 54, and Meri, 52, also ended their spiritual marriages to Kody last year. However, Kody is still legally married to Robyn, 45, who joined the polygamous family in 2010.

The shifting dynamics within the family have breathed new life into Sister Wives, resulting in the reality show currently enjoying its highest ratings in years. Kody's recognition in We's first annual Reality Issue further highlights the impact of his divorces, comparing them to the experience of a death.

Kody explained, "Divorce changes you...I never felt entitled to say, 'Hey, I don't love this woman anymore. I want a divorce.' That wasn't within my realm of control, but it was for them." He continued, "Therefore, Christine made the choice to leave, and that's where we are now. Her decision was both a blessing and a curse. It has been incredibly difficult, but I would have never taken that step myself. It was her courage that allowed it to happen."
