Sister Wives' Christine Brown Opens Up: Her Thoughts on Missing Plural Marriage and Future Polygamy with Her Husband

Sister Wives' Christine Brown opens up about her perspective on plural marriage, revealing if she longs for it and whether she would consider practicing polygamy again with her husband David Woolley

Sister Wives star Christine Brown is thankful that polygamy brought her sister wife Janelle Brown into her life, but she is not yearning for that lifestyle. "No, no, no, no. I love monogamy," Christine, 51, told We earlier this month when asked if she misses plural marriage.

Christine described her monogamous relationship with her husband David Woolley as "wonderful and beautiful," stating that she is "loving" it. She married Woolley, 59, in October, almost two years after announcing her split from plural husband Kody Brown in November 2021.

Christine Brown, as seen on TLC's Sister Wives and photographed by Justin Stephens, shared that her husband, Woolley, was aware of polygamy and had even watched a few episodes of Sister Wives before their wedding. However, the couple ultimately decided against pursuing a plural relationship, with Christine stating, "And he knew we weren't going to do it at all. [We're like] No, no no no."

She further elaborated to Us, "I am grateful that embracing polygamy introduced me to Janelle," emphasizing that she expressed to her current partner during their second date the significance of Janelle, 54, in her life.

Christine Brown, shared on her Instagram, "I was once a polygamist and the third wife. Janelle is my sister wife and will always be a part of my life. You have to get along and they do, they get along great."

After confirming her split from Kody in December 2022, Janelle shared with Us that Woolley has seamlessly blended into their family, with her children, Maddie and Caleb, finding him to be "really great" and easily accepting him as part of the family dynamic. "The kids like him. I think Maddie and Caleb met him and they’re like, ‘Oh mom, he’s just a bro. He’s just a guy,'" Janelle said. "The more we spend time with him, the more they’re like, ‘Wow, he’s really great.’ So, it’s been kind of a seamless thing [and] almost how it was supposed to be."

Janelle and Christine both have six children with Kody, as well as being mothers to one of Meri Brown's children and five of Robyn Brown's children. Meri, aged 52, announced her separation from Kody in January, while Robyn, aged 45, is still legally married to him. Despite Christine being committed to monogamy, Janelle revealed to Us this month that she has not closed the door on the possibility of a plural relationship in the future.

"I still hold onto my beliefs, but I'm not sure if I see myself entering into a plural marriage," she stated. "If God presents me with the opportunity, I would think about it. But honestly, the idea of dating, let alone remarrying, doesn't even cross my mind. I suppose only time will tell."
