Joe Manganiello is making his split from Sofia Vergara official, filing for divorce two days after news of their breakup made headlines.

Manganiello, who is 46 years old, submitted a petition for legal separation on July 19, according to court records obtained by TMZ. The actor, known for his role in Magic Mike, stated "irreconcilable differences" as the grounds for divorce. Documentation reveals that Vergara, aged 51, and Manganiello had a prenuptial agreement. The former couple recently confirmed their separation with a joint statement, following reports earlier this week.

“We have come to the painful conclusion to end our marriage,” the duo informed Page Six on Monday, July 17th. “As two individuals who deeply love and cherish each other, we kindly request that our privacy be respected during this period as we embark on this new chapter in our lives.”

Sofia Vergara's separation news emerged while she was enjoying a vacation in Italy with her friends. The actress celebrated her 51st birthday on July 10 while she was still overseas, leading to speculation among her fans about potential relationship issues.

Manganiello was absent in Italy during Vergara's celebratory toast. Nevertheless, he conveyed his well wishes through social media with the message, "Happy Birthday Sofia!" However, this message was later criticized as "indifferent" by several of his followers. Despite their previous displays of affection and admiration for each other, the dynamics of their relationship have shifted over the past year.

Joe and Sofia ended their relationship because they were leading separate lives, a source revealed exclusively to We on Wednesday. Cheating or similar issues were not the cause. It became evident to both of them that they seldom saw eye to eye.

According to the insider, Vergara enjoys a very active social life, while Manganiello prefers staying at home more often.

The estranged couple's relationship seemed to suffer as a result of their differences before their official separation. According to a source, "She preferred going out with friends while he preferred staying at home, which meant they didn't spend much time together. They've been leading separate lives for around a year, so it was time to end things."

Soon after the news of Vergara's availability became public, Julie Bowen, her former castmate from Modern Family, lauded her on social media.

Bowen, 53, commented on Instagram photos of Vergara wearing a figure-hugging one-piece bathing suit, exclaiming, "This is the epitome of stunning and elegance!!️️️️️"

Vergara, on the other hand, captioned the pictures from her vacation in Italy as "Final days of relaxation! Even when you're incredibly attractive, I adore you Ravello!! ."
