Shocking Personal Loss: Katharine McPhee's Abrupt Exit from International Tour

Katharine McPhee is cutting short her international tour due to an unforeseen family emergency.

"On behalf of our Jakarta fans, it is with great sadness that I inform you that I will not be able to perform in our last two shows in Asia," shared McPhee, 39, on Friday, August 11, on her Instagram. "David Foster and I have experienced a devastating tragedy within our family, and it is imperative for at least one of us to return home to be with our loved ones."

She expressed her sincere apology and expressed her desire to come back and entertain everyone in the future. The renowned American Idol finalist and her spouse, Foster, who is 73 years old, have been touring Asia together during the summer. After showcasing their David Foster & Friends performance in Singapore, they were set to continue their tour in Indonesia. The Jakarta shows were originally planned to start on Saturday, August 12, at the Sentul International Convention Centre.

McPhee and Foster have not disclosed their plans regarding his participation in the performance while McPhee is absent. Additionally, they have chosen not to divulge any details about the unfortunate incident, while their celebrity acquaintances extended their support.

Nicole Scherzinger expressed her love and prayers for your family through an Instagram comment. Similarly, Linda Thompson sent love to you and David, and hoped that everything is alright.

McPhee recently revealed that she had a close call with an armed robbery in Los Angeles a few weeks ago. Taking to Instagram on August 3, she shared news footage of the incident at a local restaurant called Craig's, expressing her gratitude for narrowly missing the dangerous situation.

In February 2021, McPhee and Foster joyfully welcomed their first child, a son named Rennie.

On February 1, 2023, at The Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, David Foster and Katharine McPhee captivated the audience with their mesmerizing performance during "An Intimate Evening with David Foster."

"Currently, I perceive him as a harmonious blend of both my partner and me," McPhee shared exclusively with We in October 2021, referring to her "smiley and joyful" baby boy. "Many individuals note that he strongly resembles his father, and although I agree, I believe he embodies a wonderful fusion of our traits."

Katharine McPhee, known for her role in Smash, expressed her excitement for her child's development. She eagerly anticipates the stage when her child starts standing and walking. While some parents encourage delay in walking, she sees it as an exciting transition. Currently, her child hasn't begun crawling, but she thoroughly enjoyed witnessing the milestone of sitting up. It was a thrilling moment for her.

McPhee is also the stepmother of Foster’s five children from past relationships, including Erin and Sara Foster.
