Lisa Rinna has addressed the workplace culture on the set of Days of Our Lives in light of recent allegations of misconduct. The 60-year-old former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star shared the headline of an article on her Instagram Story on Tuesday, July 25, regarding an internal investigation into director Albert Alarr's alleged misconduct earlier this year.
Rinna took the opportunity to express her thoughts in the now-deleted Story. She wrote, "Karma is a bitch. It's been a long time coming... The last time I worked on Peacock and spent a week there, the work environment was absolutely shocking and disgusting. I was truly appalled. I made it clear to numerous people, including Albert, how I felt, but it seems like no action was taken until now."
Rinna recently reprised her role as Billie Reed in the 2021 limited series Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem. It is worth mentioning that her comments regarding misconduct on set coincided with a report from Deadline, stating that an investigation into Alarr, who is 67 years old, had been initiated in March following a complaint filed by an employee. The complaint alleged that women had been disproportionately affected by a recent round of layoffs.
The outlet stated that the investigation had progressed due to misconduct accusations against Alarr, which included allegations of him "groping" cast members. As part of the investigation, an incident from five or six years ago was examined, wherein Alarr supposedly touched and kissed a Days of Our Lives actress without her consent. Eventually, Alarr apologized to the actress. Following the conclusion of the investigation, Corday Productions, the distributor of Days of Our Lives, released a statement to Deadline.
"After conducting a thorough two-month investigation, the independent investigator has generated a report containing its findings. In response to these findings, Corday Productions has implemented a series of measures aimed at guaranteeing a secure and considerate work atmosphere," stated the announcement. The company did not disclose the details of these measures. Reports indicate that Alarr received a written warning and was directed to complete training. We have contacted both Alarr and Rinna for their remarks.
Speaking on her return to the Days of Our Lives universe, Rinna previously shared her experience in a September 2021 interview with Today.
"I have a deep affection for Billie Reed, and I feel a stronger connection to her than any other character I've portrayed. It's always enjoyable to return to her storyline," she expressed during that period.
Rinna initially took on the role in 1992 before departing the soap opera in 1995. However, she later returned to portray the character again in 2002, 2012, 2018, and 2021. Earlier this year, the actress bid farewell to another TV series, as she announced her departure from RHOBH after being a part of it for 8 seasons in January.
"It has been pure bliss," Rinna revealed exclusively to Us in March about her life post the Bravo series. "I've had the opportunity to visit both Paris and London and experience traveling, attending fashion shows. Truly, I am currently living my best life."
