In her new book, The Next Chapter, Jana Kramer details the intense argument she had with Mike Caussin before officially seeking a divorce.
According to a source, it is revealed that in spring 2021, Kramer wrote about her experience of recovering from her breast augmentation. During this time, Caussin volunteered to do the laundry but failed to complete the task in a timely manner, causing an argument to ensue. In the heat of the argument, Caussin insulted Kramer by saying, "I didn't know you were such a f--king cripple."
Kramer recounts that Caussin then proceeded to throw wet clothes at her, causing her to lose her balance and fall. As a result, she started to cry. In a manner consistent with the past, Caussin callously remarked, "That didn't hurt. Get the f--k up," as depicted in Kramer's memoir where she deliberately avoids mentioning his name.
Prior to the alleged altercation in the laundry room, Kramer and Caussin had a conversation about a tense fight they had in March 2021. During their podcast, Kramer expressed how impactful hurtful words can be, even though they may not be intentional. She acknowledged that she had said unkind things, which deeply affected Caussin, likening her behavior to that of high school bullying.
In response, Caussin acknowledged their differences in handling such situations. He admitted that while Kramer's words had hurt him, he didn't hold onto them like she did. Caussin recognized that they were different individuals, and emphasized the importance of avoiding manipulative tactics in order to assert dominance and seek respect.
Kramer and Caussin's relationship was filled with turmoil for several years, as the former NFL player admitted to multiple instances of infidelity towards the country singer. Soon after their heated argument about their issues, Kramer alleges that she found proof of Caussin's unfaithfulness once again. As a result, she initiated divorce proceedings in April 2021, ending their six-year marriage.
"The Next Chapter," available in stores on Tuesday, October 24, recounts the year following Kramer's decision to end their relationship. Together, they have a daughter named Jolie, aged 7, and a son named Jace, aged 4.
“I am extremely proud of the way we have co-parented and believe we are doing an exceptional job," she stated during an interview with Us in April. "My main goal is for both of us to find true happiness. It is important to me that everyone involved, including myself, lets go of any negative emotions. I genuinely want the best for him and hope that everything works out because ultimately, it is in the best interest of our children."
Since then, Kramer has found love again with soccer coach Allan Russell. The couple shared their joyous news in May, announcing their engagement and the upcoming arrival of their first child together.
"Everyone shares a remarkable camaraderie, creating a truly harmonious atmosphere. I once observed their interactions and was moved by the realization that positive change is possible, resulting in something truly beautiful," Kramer expressed to Us. "Attending their soccer games, I couldn't help but be in awe. It's a deeply fulfilling experience, symbolizing a complete reunion after all the tumultuous times."
With their imminent marriage on the horizon, Kramer and Russell are devoting their attention to their precious baby boy.
"I have a vision in mind for my wedding, but I am aware that it would be expensive for the guests. I am taking their well-being into consideration and trying to find a solution. It is quite overwhelming and we have temporarily postponed the plans since we moved in here, but we are planning to revisit it soon."
