Jana Kramer's babymoon with fiancé Allan Russell took an unexpected turn when she was rushed to the hospital.
Posting emergency room selfies on Instagram on Sunday, October 15, Kramer, 39, shared the details: "Our babymoon didn't go as planned, but we learned some valuable lessons. First and foremost, our baby is doing well️. The back pain I've been experiencing for weeks turned out to be more than just back pain. Lesson learned: Do not ignore pain, as it could signify a more serious issue."
The One Tree Hill star initially attributed her pain to her pregnancy, but a social media user DM'ed her suggesting that it might be a symptom of a kidney problem. Despite not wanting to spoil their babymoon or give in to her tendency to be a slight hypochondriac (which her closest friends find amusing), they decided to board the plane to Florida. However, when they arrived, the pain became unbearable and she started feeling even worse, prompting them to go to the hospital.
Kramer was ultimately diagnosed with a severe bacterial infection that had spread to her kidneys, as she explained in her recent post on Sunday.
As a result, she had to stay in the hospital for two days and receive antibiotics because she had ignored the symptoms for too long. In light of her experience, Kramer emphasized the importance of listening to one's body and seeking medical assistance when in pain or discomfort. She emphasized that neglecting one's health can lead to serious consequences.

Kramer expressed gratitude to her 42-year-old fiancé, who proposed in May, for choosing to sleep on a "pull-out chair" beside her in the hospital instead of staying alone at a nearby hotel. She praised him for being supportive and not abandoning her when she wasn't feeling well. She also extended appreciation to the nurses at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm for their kindness. Kramer has now been released from the hospital and she and Russell were able to have a smaller version of their planned beach vacation before the arrival of their baby.
Kramer and Russell, who revealed their relationship in January, announced in June that they are anticipating their first child together. They both have two children from previous relationships. Kramer has a daughter named Jolie, 7, and a son named Jace, 4, with her ex-husband Mike Caussin. Russell co-parents a son named Troy, 16, and a former stepdaughter named Claudia from a previous partner.
Later on, Kramer and Russell celebrated a gender reveal event and discovered that they are expecting a baby boy. They have chosen the initials "RJR" for the baby's name, but they have not yet disclosed the full name.
