In an interview with The Sunday Times on March 16, the 47-year-old singer revealed that she put her career on hold to be by Piqué's side as he pursued his football career. She described it as a sacrifice made out of love.

Shakira and Piqué, who is 37 years old, began their relationship in 2010 and later became parents to sons Milan, aged 10, and Sasha, aged 8. Despite their separation in June 2022, they remain committed to co-parenting their children.
