Shahs of Sunset Reunion: Catching Up with the Cast

The Shahs of Sunset cast has been staying active since the show ended. The series first aired on Bravo in 2012, showcasing the lives of Persian-Americans in Beverly Hills. They navigated between work, socializing, family, and their cultural heritage.

The reality show Shahs of Sunset originally featured Reza Farahan, Golnesa Gharachedaghi, Sammy Younai, Asa Soltan Rahmati, Mike Shouhed, Mercedes Javid, and Lilly Ghalichi.

‘Shahs of Sunset’ Cast: Where Are They Now?

The Shahs of Sunset cast has been keeping busy since the show wrapped.

The Bravo series, Shahs of Sunset, first aired in 2012. It showcased the lives of a group of Persian-Americans residing in Beverly Hills. They navigated the challenges of juggling their careers, social circles, family relationships, and cultural heritage.

Reza Farahan

Reza was part of the series from the beginning until it ended.

After Shahs of Sunset finished in 2021, Reza made an appearance on Traitors in 2023 and is scheduled to be on The Goat in May 2024. In October 2023, he and his husband Adam Neely celebrated their eight-year wedding anniversary.

In April 2020, Reza made headlines when his costar Ali Ashouri requested a restraining order against him.

Another Shahs of Sunset costar, Mike, shared with Us at that time that he had heard Ali was friends with Billy McFarland, the founder of Fyre Festival. According to Mike, Billy advised Ali to take advantage of any publicity opportunities to gain 'fame.' Mike expressed his opinion that Ali could use a hug, but not from him.

Golnesa ‘GG’ Gharachedaghi

GG joined the show during season 1 and remained until it wrapped. GG launched her podcast, “Genuinely GG,” which hasn’t released a new episode since 2022.

GG was previously married to businessman Shalom Yeroushalmi for one year, ultimately splitting in 2018. She became a mother in April 2020, welcoming son Elijah Javad, after a previous miscarriage. (GG conceived her child by using a sperm donor and undergoing IVF.)

In May 2023, GG shared with Us exclusively her thoughts on expanding her family. As she approaches 42 this year, she finds the idea of having another child challenging. GG explained, "The way I had my first child was quite difficult, so thinking about having a second one is tricky. Would I have to use the same sperm donor and go through the same process again? It's a bit complicated, so I believe I will stick to having just one child."

Sammy Younai

Sammy was a one-season wonder, but the real estate developer continued to make guest appearances since his exit.

In November 2023, he gushed via Instagram over seeing his face on the Netflix page for Shahs of Sunset.

Asa Soltan Rahmati

Asa, the author of Golden: Empowering Rituals to Conjure Your Inner Priestess released in 2016, departed from Shahs of Sunset following the sixth season. She is now a proud mother to son Soltan, born in 2017 to Jermaine Jackson Jr.

Mike Shouhed

Mike became a part of the cast in season 1 and stayed until the series ended. At the season 9 reunion, Mike announced his engagement to Paulina Ben-Cohen. Unfortunately, they later separated.

Following this, Mike encountered some legal issues. Us reported in March 2022 that Mike was arrested after a domestic incident. (However, his lawyer has refuted any allegations of wrongdoing on Mike's part.)

In October 2022, Mike joined a diversion program to resolve his case, according to Page Six.

In March 2024, it was reported that Ben-Cohen had filed a lawsuit against Mike for accusations of assault and battery, gender violence, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. A case management hearing is set for July 2024.

Mercedes ‘MJ’ Javid

MJ was a full-time cast member from the show’s beginning to end.

MJ and her husband, Tommy Feight, got married in April 2018. They shared their joy with the world when they announced that they were expecting their first child after struggling with infertility.

Their son, Shams, was born in April 2019. Unfortunately, MJ had to be placed in the ICU due to blood loss after giving birth. She shared with Us in June 2019 that the experience had changed her. She mentioned feeling a newfound strength and a different side of herself that she didn't know existed before.

Lilly Ghalichi

Lilly appeared on season 1 of Shahs of Sunset and remained a cast member until the show wrapped.

After getting married to Dara Mir in 2017, Lilly welcomed their daughter Alara in September 2018. However, their relationship faced challenges in August 2019 when Mir filed for divorce. Despite attempts to reconcile, Lilly filed for divorce from him the next year.

In January 2022, Lilly shared the exciting news of her pregnancy with their second child. Their son Kashton was born in June 2022, bringing joy to their growing family.
