Selena Gomez is getting her fans ready for the uplifting vibe of her upcoming album.

In an interview with Fast Company, Gomez, 31, shared that while she excels at creating melancholic music, she can't produce it unless she's personally feeling sad. However, she explained that she has undergone a journey of rediscovering her true self and what it means to be happy. As a result, her forthcoming album will be devoid of any somber tunes.

Gomez has yet to reveal the title of her upcoming album, marking her first release since 2020's Rare. Nonetheless, she introduced the new era in August with the release of the well-suited single "Single Soon." The song serves as a joyful tribute to the liberation found in being single.

"I'm choosing this dress, trying on these shoes / Because soon, I'll be embracing singledom, soon," sings Gomez.

While working on her fourth record, the "Lose You to Love Me" singer remains focused on the positives in her life. However, she clarifies in her interview with Fast Company that the uplifting songs on her album do not guarantee that she will never experience a bad day again.

Gomez has been open and honest about her ongoing mental health challenges. In her 2022 documentary, "Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me," she candidly shares her journey with bipolar disorder and her ongoing fight against lupus.

"I wanted to initiate a dialogue," expressed the Only Murders in the Building star when discussing her choice to disclose her personal journey in the movie. "I didn't feel any shame, and I hoped it would pave the way for healing."

Gomez, who disclosed her bipolar disorder diagnosis during a live Instagram conversation with Miley Cyrus in 2020, further shared that she experienced a sense of relief upon receiving the diagnosis.

During a difficult period in my life, I experienced both highs and lows and felt overwhelmed without knowing how to cope. I often wished to cancel plans and was plagued by a deep sense of torment. However, upon receiving my diagnosis, I felt a bit relieved and gained some understanding. I am grateful to have supportive individuals who help me navigate each day.

Gomez, currently the woman with the largest Instagram following, attributes her loyal fan base to her openness about her challenges and flaws.

"I am not unattainable. When I see someone like Beyoncé, I am awestruck. She is flawless in every aspect, radiating pure beauty. Attending her show was a mind-blowing experience. However, I acknowledge that I am not like her, and that is perfectly fine," she expressed. "I am simply myself, a little playful, yet also embracing my sensuality and desire for making a positive impact in the limited time I have here. The world needs extraordinary women like Beyoncé and Adele. Yet, I am content and grateful to be your closest companion."
