Hailey Bieber, formerly known as Hailey Baldwin, is prepared to move on from the rumored conflict with Selena Gomez.
In a recent interview on Bloomberg's "The Circuit with Emily Chang," the 26-year-old model addressed the situation between her and Gomez, emphasizing that it is not a matter of rivalry or division between two women. Instead, Bieber expressed her concern over the harmful effects of fabricated and distorted narratives, which can spawn hateful and repugnant attitudes.
Bieber criticized the speculation surrounding the feud, calling it "dangerous" and expressing a desire to advocate for unity instead of division. She emphasized her opposition to the concept of taking sides and expressed the importance of bringing people together without causing further division.
Speculation has been rife among fans about potential drama between Gomez and Bieber, fueled by their respective relationships with Justin Bieber. Earlier this year, rumors resurfaced when Hailey and her friends Kendall Jenner and Justine Skye appeared to indirectly criticize Gomez in a TikTok video posted in February. The post, which has since been deleted, featured the trio lip-synching to an audio trend that hinted at divine timing in relation to someone's actions.
In the midst of this ongoing exchange, Gomez addressed resurfaced footage of Hailey appearing to express disgust at the mention of Taylor Swift on an episode of Drop the Mic. In February, Gomez defended Swift, her best friend, by commenting on a fan's TikTok video, expressing apologies and affirming Swift's talents as one of the best in the music industry.
Gomez, who had a turbulent on-and-off relationship with Justin from 2009 to 2018, assured fans that she wasn't bothered by Hailey's possible indirect insult. However, she decided to take a break from social media. After a few days, she made a comeback on Instagram and shared pictures with her friends.
Both celebrities have now moved on from the controversy. Gomez recently used her TikTok account on March 5 to encourage her followers to show kindness and consider the mental health of others. "My heart has been heavy, and I sincerely wish the best for everyone. Sending all my love," she expressed in the comments section of her post.
The former Disney Channel star expressed her support for Hailey once more later that month, upon hearing that she had received death threats due to their TikTok conflict. Gomez took to her Instagram Story on March 24 to assert, "This goes against everything I believe in. No one should have to endure hate or bullying."
In the meantime, Hailey herself shared on her own Instagram Story that she and Gomez had discussed how to move forward from the ongoing narrative between them. The founder of Rhode Skin also added, "While social media provides an incredible platform for connection and community-building, incidents like this only serve to further divide instead of bringing people together."
After the conclusion of the drama, it became evident that Hailey bears no ill feelings towards Gomez, as she recently liked one of the “Liar” singer’s Instagram posts. Hailey previously addressed their relationship dynamics on a September 2022 episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, categorically denying any overlap between her and Justin's relationship and his romance with Gomez.
In her appearance on “The Circuit with Emily Chang,” Hailey expressed her strong aversion to the perceived rivalry between herself and Gomez, which has persisted since she and Justin started dating in 2015. The couple officially tied the knot in September 2018 and celebrated their union once again in front of their loved ones the following year.
"It's frustrating how we constantly find ourselves reiterating that there is no problem or issue," Hailey expressed. "It's disheartening that people persist in behaving this way solely because of a man. Sadly, this is the reality of the world we inhabit."
