Selena Gomez Hints at Final Album in the Works

Selena Gomez, the renowned popstar, actor, and beauty mogul, hints at the possibility of her musical journey coming to a close, leaving fans eagerly anticipating her final album

Selena Gomez is a modern-day triple threat: she's an international pop star, an Emmy-nominated actor, and a beauty mogul. However, she hinted at the possibility of soon ending her career as a singer.

"I do feel like I have one more album in me," Gomez said on a recent episode of the "Smartless" podcast.

As I get older, I find myself wanting to find something to really focus on," she shared, expressing her desire to concentrate on her acting career. From a young age, Gomez always knew she wanted to pursue a career as a serious actress. Her foray into music came about when Disney approached her to create an album while she was starring in the Disney Channel series "Wizards of Waverly Place" in the late 2000s.

"I thought it would be enjoyable, and I thought more than anything it would be a hobby that I really loved," she said. "I aspired to be an actress. I never planned on being a full-time singer but it seems that my hobby turned into something more."

Since 2013, Gomez has released three studio albums, including hits such as "Come & Get It," "Same Old Love," and "Lose You to Love Me." Her Spanish-language EP "Revelación" earned her a Grammy nomination for best Latin pop album in 2022. Recently, she released her latest single, "Single Soon."

Gomez, an early teen icon from "Wizards," is currently featured in the well-received Hulu series "Only Murders in the Building" alongside Martin Short and Steve Martin. She has also made appearances in films such as "Spring Breakers" and "A Rainy Day in New York." Juggling her music and acting careers has been challenging for Gomez, as she discussed on a recent podcast episode. She attributes some of this strain to her mental health struggles, a topic she openly addresses in her 2022 docuseries "Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me."

She acknowledged that she was not required to choose between music and acting at the moment, but admitted that a decision might need to be made in the near future. "I'll probably want to take a break because I'm feeling exhausted," she said.

In 2020, Gomez launched her cosmetics company, Rare Beauty, alongside her music and acting endeavors. During a podcast, she described the company as "the biggest gift", expressing gratitude for its success despite launching during Covid. She further expressed pride in the company's achievements.
