However, Dracula's excitement wavers when Johnny reveals his intentions to renovate the hotel. To dissuade Johnny, Dracula fabricates a fictional monster law prohibiting humans from owning the hotel. Disheartened, Johnny crosses paths with Van Helsing, who proposes a solution: a ray that can transform him into a monster. Johnny eagerly agrees to the proposition. However, when Dracula discovers this, he frantically tries to revert Johnny back to his original human form, inadvertently turning himself into a human and rendering the ray useless.
