Sean Kingston’s mother, Janice Turner, was arrested on Thursday, May 23, after a police raid on the singer’s rented Florida mansion.

Turner, who is 61 years old, has been charged with fraud and theft, as reported by NBC6. The raid was carried out by Broward Sheriff’s deputies and Davie Police SWAT members. Aerial footage from NBC6 captured the moment Turner was taken into custody and escorted into a police car in handcuffs.

A lawsuit filed in February against Kingston, 34, by an attorney representing Ver Ver Entertainment triggered the raid. The lawsuit claims that the singer bought promotional items from the company but did not pay for them. One of the items was a 232-inch TV that Kingston has been seen posing with in pictures.

According to attorney Dennis Card, Kingston enjoys showing off and being flashy. The attorney mentioned that there is a $150,000 television sound system, about $1 million worth of watches, and an $80,000 custom bed in Kingston's possession. Card described the situation as an organized systematic fraud.

He continued, “He’s basically running a scam. He claims to work with Justin Bieber and puts on a big show at this rental house to deceive people into releasing things without payment. But in reality, he never pays for anything because he doesn't actually own the house."

Card accused Turner of being "complicit" in Kingston's fraudulent activities and being aware of the situation.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office has confirmed to People that the investigation in Dania Beach is still ongoing. The complaint accuses Kingston of making multiple false statements, including claiming to have a current working relationship with Bieber, who is now 30 years old. It's worth noting that the two musicians have not collaborated on a song since 2010.

Furthermore, the lawsuit alleges that Kingston had promised to create promotional videos featuring Bieber to lower his payments, but he never intended to follow through on this promise.

Card shared with People that he had filed a lawsuit against Sean Kingston. A detective from Broward County reached out to him after reading the lawsuit. Together with his client, they provided a recorded statement and an affidavit.

He mentioned that they had been anticipating the raid for over two months.

In 2006, Turner admitted to submitting false loan applications and committing bank fraud. Court documents obtained by NBC6 revealed that she pleaded guilty to four counts of filing false loan applications and one count of bank fraud. As a result, she was sentenced to 16 months in prison and five years of supervised release.

It is disheartening to see Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, embroiled in such a serious legal battle. The allegations of fraud and theft, coupled with Turner's previous conviction for bank fraud, raise concerns about their integrity and financial dealings. The extent of Kingston's alleged fraudulent activities, including the use of Bieber's name to deceive victims, is particularly troubling.

The investigation and raid by law enforcement indicate a determination to uncover the truth and hold those responsible accountable. Turner's arrest and the ongoing investigation suggest that there may be more to this case than meets the eye. It is important to allow the legal process to unfold and for justice to prevail. Meanwhile, it serves as a reminder of the consequences of engaging in illegal activities and the importance of financial responsibility.
