Reports from a Miami news outlet first broke the story, linking the arrests to ongoing fraud and theft allegations.
The news outlet shared video footage of Kingston’s Florida home being raided by a SWAT team. Kingston was not there when his mother was arrested.

Why Was Sean Kingston Arrested?
Police in Fort Irwin, CA, arrested Kisean Anderson, also known as Sean Kingston, on May 23. He was taken into custody without incident on a warrant from the Broward Sheriff’s Office for multiple fraud and theft charges. According to the police statement, he will be held in jail in San Bernardino, California.
Anderson is currently awaiting extradition to Florida.

Attorney Dennis Card revealed to Miami’s NBC6 on May 23 that Kingston was involved in what he described as "organized systematic fraud." Card mentioned that Kingston enjoys flaunting his wealth and described him as a showman. The lawyer also claimed that Kingston owns a $150,000 sound system, $1 million worth of custom watches, and an $80,000 custom bed.

Turner is currently dealing with several fraud and theft charges, as per NBC6's report on May 23. Attorney Card stated to the news outlet that she believes Turner is aware of her son's alleged actions and is somehow involved.
Kingston shared an update on the legal situation in a post on Instagram on May 23. He reassured his followers by saying, "I am good and so is my mother! My lawyers are taking care of everything right now."
Robert Rosenblatt, the attorney representing Kingston and Turner, acknowledged the allegations in a statement to the Associated Press. He expressed confidence in a successful resolution for Shawn and his mother, anticipating the opportunity to address the accusations in court.
In contrast to Kingston's optimistic perspective, Attorney Card, in a statement to NBC6, continued to criticize the singer by labeling him as "a scammer." Card suggested that this behavior was part of an ongoing pattern for Sean.
