Scheana Shay received a message from Lindsay Hubbard while spending time with Carl Radke's mom in Mexico during what should have been the wedding weekend for the stars of Summer House. "It was the second day of my trip, I received a text from Lindsay about a comment I made while hanging out with Carl's mom at the pool," the 38-year-old Vanderpump Rules star shared during the December 1 episode of her "Scheananigans" podcast. "Sharon and I have been friends for many years. We even did Watch What Happens Live together years ago when she and my mom were the bartenders, and I've always maintained a relationship with her."
Shay expressed that she had been keeping in touch with Hubbard's mom after his and Radke's engagement was called off earlier in the year. She empathized with how hard it must have been for Sharon to have her son's breakup become public and mentioned that she felt Sharon really needed a break. Despite her excitement to spend time with Sharon and friends at the wedding destination in Mexico, she also sympathized with Hubbard's situation. When the group shared photos and videos from the trip, Hubbard reached out to Shay.
Shay received a text from someone informing her that five different people had told them she was being negative about Shay in Mexico. She disputed this claim, stating that she had only made one joking comment. Although she did not disclose the details of what was said, she suspected it was related to her concerns about having to resolve their issues at BravoCon in 2024. She commented that she could already imagine the fans speculating about their relationship, referencing a previous incident with Andy Cohen at BravoCon 2023.

Shay emphasized that her comment was meant as a joke, but it seems that others interpreted it differently. She reached out to Hubbard to clarify that she didn't mean to criticize or be overly negative. Shay stated that even after providing context, Hubbard did not respond.
In August, we reported that Radke had ended his engagement to Hubbard, and cameras resumed filming to capture the breakup. Shortly after, Radke sent a message to their wedding guests.
"The past two weeks have been incredibly challenging for Lindsay and me, and words fail to fully capture the difficulty," he wrote in a letter to the attendees. "We deeply apologize for the confusion and lack of communication to all our guests. Before we could even begin to navigate the way forward, we were scrambling to understand how this all occurred."
In his message, Radke urged everyone to make the most of the trip, as most had already purchased nonrefundable plane tickets and hotel rooms.

Radke took care of canceling the wedding logistics while Hubbard focused on healing from the sudden breakup. Although she didn't go to Mexico, she hinted to Us about her alternative plans.
"I'm going to start working on my book," she revealed exclusively to Us in November. "It will feature a mix of career, dating, and family anecdotes. I have a lot of stories to share."
