Sandra Mason chose to prioritize The Golden Bachelor over attending her daughter's wedding, without any regrets. Sandra, at the age of 75, revealed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that her son-in-law and daughter both encouraged her to go, assuring her that the wedding ceremony was just a brief moment compared to the everlasting nature of marriage. Both her daughter and son-in-law had been previously married, with her daughter being almost 51 years old and her son-in-law being 53.
During season 1 of The Golden Bachelor, Sandra participated as one of Gerry Turner's contestants. On the episode aired on October 18, she disclosed that the group date, which involved a pickleball tournament, coincided with her daughter's wedding day.
Following the tournament, Sandra conversed with 72-year-old Gerry and shared the significance of the day. "I am deeply honored, but it's a major occasion," he acknowledged before using an iPhone to FaceTime the recently married couple.
Sandra later expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Gerry for organizing the call and praised him even more during a confidential conversation.
"That was incredibly kind of him," she exclaimed. "He constantly surprises me with his thoughtfulness. He's truly one-of-a-kind."

Sandra received the group date rose as a token of her sacrifice, but unfortunately, she was eliminated from the competition the following week.
"He didn't pick me," Sandra told ET when asked about Gerry. "Clearly, his bonds with my other sister wives were stronger, more intense, and more romantic compared to my relationship with him. He followed his heart. He's a wonderful person. We had a good connection, but he didn't fall in love with me."
Gerry's top three contenders are Theresa Nist, Leslie Fhima, and Faith Martin. He openly admitted to falling in love with more than one person during his time on the show.
"I initially believed that was impossible, dismissing it as silly. But I couldn't have been more mistaken," Gerry revealed exclusively to Us magazine last month. "As I went through this journey, I genuinely developed deep emotions for multiple women."

He went on to say, "Looking back, I now understand that in that specific moment, whenever it may have been, the circumstances were such that it was effortless to express love to someone. However, once you overcome various challenges and reflect on it, you come to realize that there is only one person who consistently meets the criteria in every situation as desired."
