Sam Claflin Delighted as Stevie Nicks Sends Flowers, Exudes Confidence
'Daisy Jones and the Six' actor, Sam Claflin, playfully boasts about receiving flowers from Stevie Nicks, claiming it tops winning a trophy at the 2024 Golden Globes

Sam Claflin may not have won a Golden Globe for his performance in Daisy Jones & the Six, but he received a personal commendation from Stevie Nicks, which he found especially meaningful.
"Stevie Nicks personally reached out to me, which feels like a win in itself," the 37-year-old actor shared with E! News at the 81st annual Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, California, on Sunday, January 7. "I’m not concerned about winning tonight. That acknowledgment means everything to me."
Claflin shared that Nicks, 75, commended his "heartbreaking" performance on the Prime Video series, which premiered in March 2023. "She sent me a bouquet of flowers," he added. "I arrived in L.A. with this note. … So I feel very content right now, very, very grateful."
In the adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid‘s novel of the same title, Claflin played the role of Billy Dunne, the frontman of Daisy Jones & the Six. The series depicted the band's tumultuous journey to becoming one of the most prominent rock bands of the '70s and their dramatic fallout. Riley Keough portrayed Daisy Jones, with Suki Waterhouse, Will Harrison, Josh Whitehouse and Sebastian Chacon rounding out the rest of the band. Camila Morrone starred as Camila Alvarez, Billy’s wife and the band’s photographer.
Reid’s book drew loose inspiration from Fleetwood Mac and the making of their hit album Rumours. The parallels continued when Keough and Claflin portrayed Daisy and Billy on screen, their relationship bearing some resemblance to that of Nicks and bandmate Lindsey Buckingham.
Nicks has been vocal in her praise of the show. “Just finished watching Daisy Jones + the 6 for the 2nd time. In the beginning, it wasn’t really my story, but Riley seamlessly, soon became my story,” she shared via Instagram in August 2023. “It brought back memories that made me feel like a ghost watching my own story. It was very emotional for me. … Hopefully it will continue.”

Nicks mentioned that her close friend, the late Christine McVie, a fellow member of Fleetwood Mac, would have had a great appreciation for the series. (McVie passed away in November 2022 at the age of 79.)
In October 2023, Nicks highlighted the “simple” detail in Keough and Claflin’s chemistry that resonated with her own relationship with Buckingham. “It was the quick-witted banter between Daisy and Billy, which, to me, was like the dynamic between me and Lindsey,” she shared with Vulture. “The back-and-forth between the two of them was exceptional. It felt so authentic and captured the essence perfectly.”

She also mentioned, "When two individuals embody the essence of something that resonates with your own life, it's not about their appearance or fashion choices. It's a different kind of connection. It's the way they look at each other after a disagreement, and then suddenly burst into song. It's truly incredible."
Daisy Jones & The Six received a nomination for Best Limited or Anthology Series or Television Film at the Golden Globes on Sunday, but ultimately lost to Beef. Claflin and Keough did not win their respective nominations, as the lead actors from the Netflix series, Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, made history as the first Asian American stars to win in the limited series categories.
