Rob McElhenney, known for his generous offers, initially placed a bid worth thousands of dollars for a unique Philadelphia Eagles jacket signed by Kylie Kelce. However, he has been outbid and is no longer the top contender.
The star of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, aged 46, placed a bid of $10,050 in the auction that started on November 8. He expressed his enthusiasm for the cause and the jacket by tweeting, "@JasonKelce @Eagles @eaglesautism Yes please. A great cause and the greatest jacket ever made? @JasonKelce @Eagles @eaglesautism". He also shared a screenshot indicating that he was the highest bidder. (As of now, the current highest offer is $20,000.)
The NFL team announced the auction on Wednesday and also revealed the return of the "iconic '90s Eagles Letterman Jacket" that was previously worn by the late Princess Diana. The official Eagles account tweeted, "We know you've been waiting for this one."
The limited-edition varsity jacket in the team's throwback Kelly Green color is available for purchase by fans at the Eagles pro shop for $400. Diehard Philly supporters have the opportunity to bid on two jackets signed by Kelce, 31, with "Go Birds!" written on the waistband, in support of the Eagles Autism Foundation. The auction will close on November 24.
While cheering for the Eagles center, Jason Kelce's wife has also gained her own spotlight. Kylie and Jason, 36, have been married since 2018 and are proud parents of daughters Wyatt, 4, and Elliotte, 2. Their third baby girl, Bennett, now 8 months old, was born shortly after Jason and his brother, Travis Kelce, competed against each other in Super Bowl LVII. (Travis, 34, and the Kansas City Chiefs ultimately emerged victorious over Jason and the Eagles.)
The couple appeared in the Prime Video documentary titled Kelce, which premiered in September. The documentary showcased Jason's path to the Super Bowl in 2023. During an interview with Today, Kylie shared her perspective on being the spouse of an NFL player, emphasizing her desire to maintain authenticity. In October, she mentioned that there are some women in relationships with professional athletes who greatly appreciate the luxuries in life, but her upbringing and personal preferences differ from that perspective.
She expressed her unwavering devotion to her husband's team in the movie. "I am like a die-hard Eagles fan, to the point where, if Jason ever joined another team, I would proudly wear his name, 'Kelce,' and not support any other team," Kylie, who hails from Philadelphia, said candidly on camera. "I've contemplated this multiple times, and it just feels wrong to do. It's a difficult decision to make."
Similarly, McElhenney has been a lifelong enthusiast of Philadelphia sports, and he actively advocates for the Eagles to permanently sport their Kelly Green jerseys. After the team donned these vintage uniforms during their Week 7 game against the Miami Dolphins, he publicly urged Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie to consider adopting them full-time.
On October 22, he tweeted, expressing the desire of myself and the individuals listed below to petition for the designation of Kelly Green as the official color of the @Eagles, both presently and indefinitely. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
