Kylie Kelce is channeling her inner Princess Diana.
The Philadelphia Eagles' official Instagram account shared photos on Wednesday, November 8, of Kylie Kelce, the wife of Eagles center Jason Kelce, donning a vintage jacket that pays homage to the iconic style of the late Princess of Wales.
Kylie, 31, looked joyful as she wore a letterman jacket in the photo. The jacket had a green body, gray sleeves, and featured the team’s football helmet on one arm and the NFL’s logo on the other. On the chest, "Philadelphia Eagles" was embroidered in white, while the back displayed the team’s eagle mascot soaring with a football in its claw.
In the carousel of images, Kylie proudly displayed the jacket from different angles. She started by crossing her arms and leaning over a railing, then turned around and gazed into the distance. The final picture showed her sitting on stairs at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field stadium, dressed in blue cuffed jeans and sneakers, posing with confidence.
Kylie paired the jacket with a black T-shirt and delicate stud earrings. She sported a soft glam look, with defined eyebrows, a rosy blush, and mascara. Her dirty blonde hair was parted down the middle and styled in gentle curls.
"The moment you've been eagerly anticipating," mentioned the Eagles' account in the photo captions. "Get your hands on the legendary '90s Eagles Letterman Jacket starting tomorrow at @eaglesproshop stores. Additionally, you can place a bid on @kykelce's signed jacket to show your support for @eaglesautism!"
Since its debut in 1991, when Princess Diana sported the iconic jacket while accompanying Prince William to school, this famous garment has captured the imagination of many. The jacket was said to be a gift from Jack Edelstein, a former statistician for the Eagles, who was a close family friend of Princess Grace of Monaco. It was during Grace's funeral in 1982 that Edelstein had the opportunity to meet Diana, who tragically passed away at the young age of 36 in August 1997.
During an ESPN interview in October, Marnie Schneider, granddaughter of former Eagles owner Leonard Tose, revealed that during a conversation with Princess Diana, Edelstein had learned about her lack of knowledge on American football but her fondness for the colors green and silver. After returning to Philadelphia, Edelstein informed Tose, who passed away at the age of 88 in 2003, about Diana's color preferences. Subsequently, they collaborated to create a customized jacket for her.
The jacket made a reappearance in 1994, showcased in photographs featured on the cover of People magazine. The current whereabouts of the original jacket worn by Diana remains unknown, leaving uncertainty regarding its existence.
Set to be released on Thursday, November 9, the redesigned jacket is expected to be available for purchase at a retail price of $400.
