Jason Kelce had the opportunity to witness the excitement of Red October in Philadelphia firsthand, all thanks to the encouragement of his wife, Kylie Kelce. On October 15, the couple, aged 35 and 31, respectively, attended Game 1 of the NLCS playoffs, where they witnessed the Philadelphia Phillies emerge victorious with a 5-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Joining them for the intense home game at Citizens Bank Arena was Travis Kelce, Jason's brother, and his sister-in-law. This thrilling experience came just one day after Jason and the Philadelphia Eagles suffered their first loss of the NFL season.
Jason, on the Wednesday, October 18, episode of the "New Heights" podcast, described the exhilarating experience of being at the ballpark for a live game. According to him, the atmosphere during Red October in Philly was unmatched. Despite initially contemplating whether or not to attend the game after the Eagles' defeat, Jason ultimately decided to go, prioritizing focus but disregarding any reservations.
Jason was ecstatic about the opportunity to witness the Phillies advancing towards another World Series. Travis, aged 34, attributed his presence at the event to Kylie, as she persuaded Jason to join him outside their home.
"Thankfully, Kylie was there and she casually mentioned, 'It would be awesome if we attended'," Travis reminisced. "I could sense she held the deciding vote, as in, 'If Kylie wants to go, then I'll go'."
On October 16, 2023, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Elsa/Getty Images captured Travis and Jason Kelce in attendance at Game One of the Championship Series between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Philadelphia Phillies held at Citizens Bank Park.
Travis and Jason were spotted on camera at the Monday night MLB game, which led the announcers to mention Travis' relationship with Taylor Swift. One of the broadcasters jokingly suggested that there was an available seat between Travis and Jason, making it seem like it could be a guys' night. Although Swift did not attend the MLB game, she has become a regular presence at Travis' Kansas City Chiefs games since they started dating a month ago. She surprised fans by showing up at Arrowhead Stadium on September 24 and supporting the Chiefs from a VIP suite. Swift also brought her famous group of friends to a game at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey before returning to the Chiefs' home stadium on Thursday, October 12.
Swift has formed a connection with Travis Kelce's parents, Ed and Donna Kelce, as she engages more deeply with the Chiefs fandom. During Thursday's game, Travis' father was seen conversing with Swift, prompting jokes from Travis and Jason about the potentially "terrifying" topics they might have discussed. On "New Heights," Jason playfully suggested that their father might have revealed that he had borrowed all of Swift's CDs from the local library and burned them onto his computer, claiming it to be legal as a tax-paying citizen. Travis expressed sympathy for Swift in this situation.
