During a recent episode of iHeartMedia's "Reasonably Shady" podcast, Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon of The Real Housewives of Potomac expressed their opinion on the appearance-altering effects of Ozempic, even for Housewives. The topic came up while the duo discussed BravoCon and recounted an amusing incident involving Emily Simpson from The Real Housewives of Orange County. After the Squash the Beef event, they witnessed Simpson leaving the hotel barefoot, carrying her slippers instead of wearing them, as she made her way to the transportation area.
Despite their disapproval of Simpson's decision to not wear shoes, Bryant couldn't help but commend her on her impressive weight loss. "By the way, she looks stunning, and her journey with Ozempic has clearly had a positive impact on her," Bryant acknowledged. "Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the other ladies here."
"I completely agree," Dixon affirmed. "I heard that she initially used Ozempic as a jumpstart and then transitioned to a combination of exercise and a healthy diet."
Bryant joked, stating that Simpson looks good while the others do not.
Dixon agreed with Simpson's successful transformation but pointed out that others who use the medication do not resemble themselves. "She looks good. Some people, it's as if they want their old selves back," Dixon remarked. "However, Marlo Hampton looks good."
Bryant admitted that Hampton's transformation was not as drastic. "Marlo appears as though you wouldn't necessarily be aware that she is using or had taken it," she clarified. "She simply seems to have lost some weight, which is ideal."
Dixon jokingly added, "And her derriere still looks plump!"

Simpson openly admitted to exclusively utilizing Ozempic injections, designed for individuals with diabetes, in December 2022. During her appearance on Jeff Lewis' SiriusXM radio show in June, Simpson shared details of her health concerns, including elevated cholesterol levels, lack of testosterone, and being at risk of developing diabetes. As a result, her healthcare provider recommended a semaglutide treatment, which she followed through and began using Ozempic in December.
The drug gave me an initial boost in losing five to seven pounds, but I stopped taking Ozempic because it made me feel tired and drained of energy. In the following month, Simpson exclusively revealed that she didn't continue with the medication and instead focused on improving her health through various efforts throughout the year.
"The biggest issue that really bothers me is how people constantly comment on my appearance, always mentioning 'Ozempic, Ozempic,'" she expressed in July. "Sure, I did use that medication nine months ago or however long it has been, but it irks me that it undermines all the tireless efforts I have put in. Say what you want, but at least acknowledge the commitment I have shown, waking up at 6 a.m. every morning, working out in the gym seven days a week."
She further shared her experience with some unpleasant side effects. "Initially, it was quite motivating when I observed improvements in my eating habits and some weight loss, and the arm liposuction was beneficial," she disclosed to Us. "It served as a great starting point for me, but it became very challenging for me to function effectively. With three young children, I couldn't endure that constant feeling of nausea. So, the positive effects were short-lived, yet impactful."
Other Housewives have also owned up to using Ozempic, from Dolores Catania to Margaret Josephs.
