RHOP's Candiace Dillard Hits Back at 'Troll' Gizelle Bryant's Attempt to Disrupt her Marriage with Rumors

Candiace Dillard is putting an end to the rumors surrounding her marriage to Chris Bassett once and for all. The Real Housewives of Potomac star, who is 36, confidently stated at BravoCon on Friday, November 3, that she and Chris are a strong couple who can withstand any test, including the challenges brought on by the pandemic and being on the show. In Candiace's own words, they are "ironclad" and "Teflon," solidifying their belief that they are meant to be together.
Candiace and Chris, aged 45, tied the knot in 2018. Recently, there has been speculation surrounding their relationship, sparked by a woman who stepped forward, asserting that she is Chris' mistress and alleging that he had asked her to undergo an abortion.
Following this revelation, Candiace's RHOP co-star, Gizelle Bryant, expressed her belief in the credibility of the woman's account to Us.
Last month, Gizelle, 53, expressed her disappointment, stating that she had attempted to inform Candiace about her husband during the previous season. However, Candiace refused to listen, so perhaps she should have heeded my advice. As BravoCon commenced on Friday, Candiace promptly dismissed Gizelle's comments.
“She finds it difficult to believe or she stands by her friend’s disbelief that Juan [Dixon] had any interaction with a woman supposedly at a hotel. Apologies,” Candiace quipped to Us at the Las Vegas convention, referring to Robyn Dixon’s spouse. “No matter how persistently a miserable, gloomy troll with an elongated neck may attempt to intrude upon a joyous union, their efforts will undoubtedly be in vain. That concludes the matter.”

Candiace’s pal and fellow RHOP personality Wendy Osefo chimed in and noted that Gizelle’s thoughts are probably a result of her own experiences.
Wendy, 39, asserted that people's reactions are often influenced by the pain and trauma they have encountered in their lives. She suggested that if one finds this perspective plausible, it reveals more about their character than the actual rumor itself. Building on Wendy's viewpoint, Candiace expressed her thoughts on the possibility of reconciling with Gizelle in an interview with Us.
"Why would you want to be friends with someone who not only accused your husband of sexual assault but also intensified the situation by persistently promoting rumors that aimed to further damage his reputation?" Candiace questioned, shaking her head. "No, absolutely not. Thank you, but no. Good night."

Gizelle had previously alleged that Chris came onto her after the RHOP season 6 reunion, which both Chris and Candiace have denied.
During an episode of the "Reality With the King" podcast in October 2022, Candiace asserted that Gizelle shows a high level of flirtation towards Chris, and he reciprocates this behavior. Candiace emphasizes that this does not cause her any concern or feelings of being threatened, as Chris has no interest in pursuing a relationship with Gizelle due to her age. Candiace confidently concludes that Chris is content with what he already has.
