At the New York City Ballet Gala on Thursday, October 5, Brynn Whitfield, star of Real Housewives of New York City, made a striking hair transformation that may be temporary.
The 36-year-old TV personality arrived at the event alongside Andy Cohen, Sarah Jessica Parker, Naomi Watts, and others. She looked stunning in a figure-flattering yellow floral gown, complemented by her bouncy lob hairstyle. Her reddish-brown hair, styled with voluminous curls, appeared to be a drastic change, but it was actually a clever illusion. Whitfield had her long locks pinned up, creating the illusion of a short haircut.
Before attending the event, Whitfield shared her preparation process on her Instagram Story. She visited the Bumble and Bumble hair salon in New York City twice. In the clips she shared, she could be seen getting a blowout and later returning for a second hair appointment. Unfortunately, she didn't reveal the details of her second visit with the hairstylists.

Whitfield's hair became a significant aspect of season 14 of RHONY, featuring a brand new cast consisting of Whitfield, Jenna Lyons, Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, and Jessel Taank. In the fourth episode, Whitfield, who has a biracial background, courageously shared her experiences of being raised by her white grandmother and how it influenced her relationship with her hair.

During a confessional interview, she revealed, "I was raised by my maternal grandmother because my father's Black side of the family was never involved in my life. This resulted in me not experiencing the support and connection with a strong Black community."
Whitfield further disclosed that her grandmother's friend, a Black woman, introduced her to a hair salon named Bradley's, specifically for Black hair. "Every week, my grandmother would take me to Bradley's in the morning, and I would spend the entire day there," Whitfield reminisced.
Whitfield expressed the significance of the experience, emphasizing that it was his sole interaction with the Black community and Black women. He witnessed the incredible beauty, strength, and humor of Black women, and he acknowledges his gratitude to God for the opportunity, which lasted for ten years with regularity.
