RHONY Reunion Drama: Luann de Lesseps and Dorinda Medley Declare Jenna Lyons' Jeans 'Out of Style' - Find Out Why!

Luann de Lesseps and Dorinda Medley were highly critical of Jenna Lyons' fashion choice during the Real Housewives of New York City season 14 reunion. On the October 22 episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, immediately after part one of the reunion, de Lesseps and Medley, both 58, candidly expressed their disapproval of Lyons opting to wear Levi's jeans.

"Medley stated straightforwardly that it was not her personal preference. She values the importance of dressing well."

"De Lesseps, on the other hand, expressed that she didn't have any issue with the outfit, but wished Lyons, who is 55 years old, had chosen a different pair of jeans. She commented to Cohen that perhaps another pair of jeans would have been more suitable. De Lesseps also mentioned that Lyons has a great figure and she'd like to see it highlighted more."

 Medley then chimed in, suggesting that Housewives should always “dress up” for reunions. (Traditionally, Bravo stars are seen in sparkly ball gowns.)

Lyons stood out in her ensemble for the season 14 taping. She combined casual pants with a Saint Laurent blazer, a sheer top by Thom Browne, and a silky tie by Saint Laurent. Her outfit was a stark contrast to her costars' attire. Brynn Whitfield chose a lace-adorned velvet gown from Alessandra Rich, Erin Lichy opted for a beaded mini dress by David Koma, Sai De Silva sported a gold frock by Laguna Smith, Jessel Tank donned a shimmery two-piece by Blumarine, and Ubah Hassan rocked a lace design by Harbison.

Lyons’ unconventional fashion statement was equally stunning and invigorating, mirroring the surprise and delight when Bravo cast her for the revitalized series. 

Numerous admirers were taken aback to discover that Lyons, with her impressive background as the creative director at J.Crew and stylist for Michelle Obama, had agreed to join the franchise. Yet, she swiftly won over the hearts of the viewers, becoming a beloved fan favorite.

"I'm not sure if my comprehension has improved," she confessed exclusively in We's inaugural issue of Reality Stars of the Year. "Nevertheless, I am truly amazed by the passion and loyalty of the fans. It definitely adds a layer of enjoyment to the whole experience."

When discussing her ensemble for the reunion, Lyons expressed, "I have a profound admiration for contrasts, and there was never a possibility of me donning a floor-length sequin gown."

"The filming of the Real Housewives of New York City season 14 reunion felt like a therapeutic experience. It provided an opportunity for everyone to express things that needed to be said and release pent-up emotions. It was a deeply cathartic process."
