Meghan King is working on improving her coparenting relationship with her ex-husband Jim Edmonds after their split in 2019. "Things are going well," King, 39, shared exclusively with We as she talked about her new real estate venture. "We have made progress."
King and Edmonds, 53, are currently “splitting custody” of their children - daughter Aspen, 6, and twin sons Hayes and Hart, 4. They had previously fought over custody.
King shared with Us that she gave her kids Apple IDs. She mentioned that as a mom, she can still be involved in their lives through FaceTime even when they are with their dad. This has made things smoother, especially now that the kids are older. Life stages can change situations.
King never imagined that she and Edmonds would be able to coexist peacefully for the sake of their children. Despite still having a ways to go, she expressed confidence that they will eventually reach that point.

King shared that despite not going out for happy hour together, he sees Kortnie O’Connor, Edmonds' wife, as a positive influence in their children's lives. O'Connor, 39, and Edmonds got married in September 2022 after dating for two years.
King and Edmonds got married in 2014 and faced challenges even before they split in October 2019, with Edmonds denying accusations of infidelity. Their divorce was finalized in spring 2021, but they had ongoing custody battles. A year after their custody issues and a restraining order, King married Cuffe Biden Owens in October 2021, but they separated just 2 months later.
Despite their past conflicts, King and Edmonds are now trying to be civil. They have not been in the same room together since the split, but the former reality star remains hopeful that they can eventually reach a place of understanding.
"It's not like I'm trying to be besties with anybody, it's all for the kids," she joked. She believes there's a clear distinction between friendship and allyship. You can share the same purpose and goal without necessarily liking the person, creating a bond that is sometimes even stronger than friendship. Both parties are united in their focus on a common outcome, sailing in the same boat towards a shared goal. This is the kind of connection she hopes to foster, with optimism about the possibility of being in the same room together.
Although King is content with how things unfolded between her and Edmonds, she admits to missing the concept of a "nuclear family" and remains open to the idea of finding love once more. Her perspective on marriage, however, has evolved since the divorce.
"My parents are still happily married, and I am grateful for the stable upbringing they provided. However, my children have never experienced anything different, so they don't feel the absence of a nuclear family. This realization has shifted my perspective. Initially, after my divorce, I thought about remarrying and expanding my family. But now, with three wonderful kids and a thriving career, I am content with where I am in life."
Although she is open to the idea of finding love again, her focus is currently on her new real estate business venture.
I recently obtained my real estate license after transitioning from being a mommy influencer. About a year ago, I decided to stop posting pictures of my kids on Instagram and wanted to move into the real estate field, as it has always been a passion of mine. I put in a lot of hard work, quickly obtained my license, and now I am working as a concierge real estate agent.
Even though I am currently only licensed in Missouri, I am able to assist clients from all over the United States as a concierge agent. This means that I can connect them with an agent in their area and be available for FaceTime or text support 24/7.
“It’s a nice balance between a traditional work environment and an entrepreneur,” she added.
