Season 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has been an emotional one for Kyle Richards, and she’s grateful fans are sticking by her side.
Kyle, 54, expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming love and support from fans and followers in a recent Instagram Story post on Monday, December 18. She conveyed her appreciation for the time and insight shared by her well-wishers, adding that their encouragement strengthens her resolve to stay true to her decision not to drink alcohol.
In the late December 13 episode of RHOBH, which was recorded late last year, Kyle became emotional when talking about the death of her close friend Lorene Shea by suicide in May 2022.
"I don't understand what happened because she had everything together," Kyle confided to her therapist. "She was the one I trusted to take care of my children, my finances, everything. She had everything under control, and then suddenly... I just don't know what happened. It's so frustrating not to have any answers."
Kyle emphasized the importance of being surrounded by "people that I love and love me, support me and only want the best for me and I only want the best for them" in the wake of Lorene's passing. She also mentioned, "I’m just trying to do all the things that are going to make me feel stronger. It’s been working.”

During a previous episode, Kyle spoke about her choice to quit drinking, explaining that she “cannot afford to feel depressed right now” in reference to personal challenges. She celebrated one year of sobriety in July.
Kyle’s relationship with her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky, has also been a focus this season. After news of their separation in July following 27 years of marriage, Kyle and 53-year-old Mauricio stated in a joint announcement that there was “no wrongdoing on anyone’s part.” They have since been seen together multiple times, including Kyle supporting Mauricio as he competed on Dancing With the Stars this autumn.
During the season 13 premiere of RHOBH in October, fans witnessed the tension between the pair. Mauricio disapproved of Kyle getting two new tattoos, but she stood her ground, insisting that it's her body and she'll do what she wants. In later episodes, Kyle expressed her unhappiness in her relationship with Mauricio, referring to his real estate company as "the other woman" and admitting that they were growing in different directions.

Despite their challenges, Kyle recently shared that she and Mauricio will be celebrating Christmas together with their children. "We are on good terms," she mentioned to TMZ on December 4. "We are just taking things one day at a time." (Kyle and Mauricio have daughters Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15. Additionally, Mauricio is a stepfather to Kyle’s daughter Farrah, 35, from her previous marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie.)
