Revolutionary Update Transforms Sea of Thieves: Introducing Safer Seas for Adventurers

Sea of Thieves introduces PvE servers, Safer Seas, providing a welcoming entry point for newcomers However, certain progression systems will be inaccessible to maintain the balanced gameplay experience

After years of requests from Sea of Thieves players, Rare is finally granting their wish for PvE servers. These servers, known as Safer Seas in the menus, will allow players to enjoy the game with up to three chosen friends without the constant threat of PvP encounters. While PvE elements such as the Kraken, Megalodon, and skeleton forts will still be present, players can now navigate the seas without the worry of other pirate crews ambushing them. This highly anticipated feature will be introduced in December as part of Season 10.

Safer Seas mode, previously known as High Seas, comes with certain limitations compared to the game's PvPvE default servers. Rare has designed Safer Seas to serve as a safer introduction to Sea of Thieves rather than a permanent gameplay option. As a result, the following progression systems and features will not be accessible in Safer Seas:

- Pirate Legend unlocks

Hourglass PvP sea battles

Emissaries - loot cash-in multipliers

Captaincy - milestones with unique unlockable rewards

Guilds - cross-server alliances connecting like-minded players (new to Season 10)

Safer Seas offers an excellent opportunity to familiarize yourself with the game's mechanics, embark on voyages alongside friends, and engage in the captivating Tall Tales story mode. Currently, there are over a dozen chapters available, with each providing approximately two hours of gameplay. Revealing glimpses of Sea of Thieves Season 10, Rare introduces a fresh competitive voyage called Skull of the Siren Song, along with a range of new cosmetic items and the exciting addition of a Plunder Pass.
