A Genshin Impact enthusiast has devised an intriguing proposal for a Geo overhaul that could greatly enhance the element's standing in the current meta. The game features seven distinct elements, with Dendro being the newest addition. Combining various elements enables players to activate different elemental reactions with varying effects, such as Electro-Charged for AoE damage or Frozen for immobilizing groups of foes.
However, the introduction of the Dendro element into Genshin Impact has brought about new elemental reactions that have had a notable impact on the character meta. Unfortunately, none of these fresh reactions can interact with Geo, leaving this element almost entirely isolated in most team setups.
Proposed Geo Rework Concept Could Bring Back Element to Meta
A Reddit user by the name of _Eltanin_ has shared a Geo rework concept that could potentially bring the element back to the meta. Currently, the only elemental reaction that Geo can trigger is Crystyllize, which drops small elemental shards on the ground that can be collected to provide a decent elemental shield. The proposed rework would maintain the defensive nature of Crystyllize by ensuring that the new reactions are only triggered if the active character already has a Geo shield equipped.
Under this rework, dealing Cryo damage to a Crystallize shard would cause a small AoE explosion that applies a debuff called Petrify. This debuff slows the enemies' attack and movement speed and can be stacked. It would completely freeze an opponent until a certain number of stacks are reached.
The Magnetize reaction could be triggered by combining Electro with a Crystyllize shard. Similar to the Cryo reaction, it would cause an AoE explosion that applies a debuff. Enemies affected by this debuff would release a pulse of energy whenever they get hit by an attack from an Electro character. Additionally, all enemies under this effect would get slowly pulled together.
When compared to the previous two revised reactions, Eruption does not inflict any debuffs. Instead, players can trigger a Pyro explosion by dealing Pyro damage to a shard, resulting in the shard breaking into three smaller pieces. Each particle will cause Geo damage to the targets it hits. This proposal has been highly praised by fans as it does not make Geo the most dominant element in the game. As of now, the only Geo character that is viable in the current meta is the well-known Geo Archon Zhongli, whose kit is equipped with both offensive and defensive capabilities.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
