Revitalizing Destiny 2's Crucible: Unleashing the Ultimate PvP Strike Team

Bungie introduces a dedicated 'PvP Strike Team' for Destiny 2, aiming to enhance the Crucible experience in the game

Highlights

Destiny 2 is forming a dedicated team focused on improving the game's Crucible mode, addressing long-standing concerns from the community.

The "PvP Strike Team" will swiftly address feedback and promptly implement approved changes to PvP modes, ensuring effective communication with players beforehand.

Destiny 2 will introduce an annual dedicated map pack, along with the addition of fresh PvP game modes. Additionally, the highly anticipated Final Shape DLC will deliver an epic conclusion to the ongoing battle between Light and Darkness.

Destiny 2 is set to receive a dedicated team, known as the "PvP Strike Team," whose main objective is to enhance the Crucible mode. Game director Joe Blackburn announced this shortly after the weekly reset in Destiny 2.

For quite some time, the Destiny 2 community has been requesting a comprehensive update regarding the state of PvP. While Bungie has addressed PvP on certain occasions, the community has expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of progress, with only one new Crucible map being introduced each year and major changes taking significant amounts of time to be implemented. However, Bungie has plans to rectify this by assembling a separate team dedicated solely to expediting updates to PvP modes, which is expected to take effect next year.

Bungie took a unique approach in communicating the changes for Destiny 2. Joe Blackburn, the game's director, personally addressed the community in a video. He introduced the "PvP Strike Team" that will continually monitor feedback and compile a list of necessary changes. Once approved by Blackburn and other senior members, these changes will be promptly communicated to the players before implementation. The success of this communication approach has been acknowledged and appreciated by fans. However, Bungie will still prioritize safety, utilizing team accounts for Destiny 2 communication.

In addition, Blackburn shared exciting news for Destiny 2. A dedicated map pack will be released annually, including new maps in one release. He also expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming changes in Destiny 2 Season 22, revealing the introduction of more PvP game modes in the game's core playlists. Blackburn intriguingly mentioned that the live-service of Destiny 2 will undergo changes after The Final Shape DLC in the following year. Detailed information on this will be provided at the August 22 showcase.

The Final Shape is the ultimate expansion for the game, marking the conclusion of the Light vs. Darkness saga. Unlike in Lightfall, where Bungie opted to unveil details gradually throughout subsequent seasons rather than in the DLC's campaign, fans were dissatisfied. In order to address this, Bungie has confirmed that the campaign and raid in Destiny 2: The Final Shape will deliver a thrilling finale to the Light vs. Darkness narrative.

Destiny 2 can be played on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
